Following reports that Britney Spears behaved strangely at a Los Angeles restaurant – including shouting and brandishing a knife in front of other diners – her representative released a statement to clarify what happened.

A spokesperson for Britney Spears said the situation was being exaggerated. According to a statement released on May 14th, Spears was simply having a private dinner with her assistant and security guard.

The representative clarified that Britney was just recounting how her dog barked at the neighbors and stated she did not have a knife while at the restaurant, despite claims to the contrary.

Her spokesperson clarified that she never threatened anyone with a knife, explaining that she was simply cutting her hamburger.

The representative stated that the ongoing criticism of her is reminiscent of how the media unfairly portrayed Britney 20 years ago, and they believe it’s unacceptable and needs to end.

Twenty years ago, Britney Spears went through a very public and difficult divorce from Kevin Federline, with whom she shares two sons, Sean Preston (20) and Jayden James (19). The relentless attention from the paparazzi during this time led to a well-known moment in 2007 when she shaved her head, seen as a rebellious act.

She added, “It’s all been a hidden blessing, really. I’m still learning to be kinder to myself and how I talk to myself… It’s a lifelong process, and sometimes I pause, look up, and realize, ‘You know what? That was you, God,’ and just smile!”

Britney strongly objected to her sister Jamie Lynn Spears’ new memoir, Things I Should Have Said, and the interviews Jamie Lynn was giving to promote it. She felt Jamie Lynn was trying to profit from the book by sharing stories about her without her permission.

Jamie Lynn admitted her actions were excessive, prompting a response from Britney. On January 13, 2022, Britney unfollowed her sister on Instagram and questioned why Jamie Lynn was discussing their past, specifically comments made on Good Morning America. Britney suggested Jamie Lynn was bringing up old issues to promote a book and profit from her experiences. She pointed out that Jamie Lynn wasn’t very present in her life fifteen years ago, making the current conversation seem self-serving.

On January 16th, Britney continued to share her thoughts, writing, “I love you no matter what! Say what you will… it’s really inappropriate for a family to argue publicly like this!”

Following that message, Jamie Lynn reached out to her sister Britney on Instagram, simply saying, “Britney—just call me.”

Britney Spears’ first husband, Jason Alexander – famously married to her for only 55 hours before their annulment in 2004 – showed up uninvited to her wedding and livestreamed his arrival. He was heard telling someone outside the venue, “I’m her first husband. I’m here to crash the wedding because it’s just Sam here. Where is her family?”

Jason was arrested and later pleaded no contest to trespassing.

He said it’s disrespectful when people start filming them while they’re trying to eat. According to Sam, Britney’s unusual behavior was a reaction to feeling like people were invading their privacy. He also clarified that he had simply walked ahead to get the car ready.

Later that month, deputies from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office visited Britney’s home to check on her well-being. This happened after many fans contacted them with concerns when she briefly deleted her Instagram account, according to a spokesperson for the sheriff’s office. They quickly confirmed that Britney was safe and not in any danger.

In an Instagram post on February 9, 2023, Britney Spears said that the most worrying rumors about her health deeply upset her.

She excitedly announced that after years of wanting to, she finally made lasagna from scratch! She also shared that her fireplace is working, jokingly adding that, as her husband says, you shouldn’t believe everything you see online.

She continued, saying she was bothered by recent news reports that claimed she’d nearly died and had a manager and doctors. She clarified that she doesn’t have a management team and never wants one, and that she only takes Prozac for depression – she doesn’t see any other medical professionals. She described herself as a very ordinary person.

Sam stated to Access Hollywood that his wife is fully capable of making her own healthcare decisions, and she will continue to do so, no matter what. He asked that people stop speculating about her health, calling it disrespectful and unwarranted.

Britney Spears and her mother, Lynne, reunited in person in May 2023 after three years of not seeing each other. After months of speculation about a possible split – fueled by Britney vacationing without her husband and Sam being seen without his wedding ring (which his representative explained was simply because he was filming) – the couple has officially broken up after 14 months of marriage.

According to a source close to the situation, Britney and Sam have decided to separate, and it’s the best course of action for her. Sam filed for divorce on August 16, 2023, stating they had differences that couldn’t be resolved, according to court filings obtained by TopMob News.

Sam Asghari’s representative has dismissed reports that he’s trying to change their prenuptial agreement or using videos to threaten Britney Spears. Brandon Cohen of BAC Talent told TopMob News that all of these claims are untrue, and that Sam has always supported Britney and will continue to do so.

Britney recently shared that she and Sam have separated. In an August 18th Instagram post, she admitted she was surprised by how fast things fell apart. In February 2022, Britney Spears agreed to a deal worth around $15 million with Simon & Schuster to write her life story.

Just before her book came out, the celebrity announced on Instagram that she’s moved on from her breakup with Sam. She described it as a fresh start, adding, “That’s all there is to it, and life happens!”

About six months after Kevin’s lawyer mentioned Britney had been talking to her sons on the phone to Entertainment Tonight, she was given more access to them.

She shared on Instagram that reuniting with her youngest son, Jayden, made this the best Christmas ever! It had been two years since she’d last seen her sons, and she described being overwhelmed with happy tears and feeling incredibly grateful and blessed. She expressed being lost for words and thanked God for the reunion.

She shared more details with her fans on New Year’s Eve, excitedly writing that he’s returned, seeming more mature and intelligent. She described him as incredibly talented, saying his presence is powerfully felt and she’s deeply moved by him, to the point of tears every day.

Britney Spears showed she’s moving past her feelings of loneliness with an October 2024 Instagram post announcing she had committed to self-love and acceptance.

She shared a video on October 20th with a caption saying, “The day I married myself,” set to Sting’s “Fields of Gold.” Although some people might consider marrying yourself “embarrassing or silly,” she believes it’s “the best thing I’ve ever done!” She didn’t reveal when the ceremony happened.

Oh, everyone got so excited when Britney posted about adopting a baby girl named Lennon London Spears on Instagram back in July 2025! But honestly, knowing Britney, those three winking emojis were a dead giveaway she was just having a little fun with us. It wasn’t true, she hadn’t actually adopted a baby. It was a playful announcement, that’s all!

Britney Spears’s ex-husband revealed his perspective on their two-year marriage in his memoir, You Thought You Knew, published in October 2025, seemingly without worrying about public backlash.

I was shocked to hear the news – TMZ reported that Britney was arrested for DUI in Los Angeles around 9 p.m. on March 4th, according to law enforcement. It was really upsetting to find out.

A representative for Britney released a statement to TopMob News saying they were very sorry for what happened and that it was unacceptable. They added that Britney will fully cooperate with the law and hope this situation will lead to positive changes she needs in her life.

Her sons, Sean and Jayden, were by her side, and her representative shared that they will be spending time with her.

Just as she’d said, Britney’s sons reached out to her after her DUI arrest. She later shared a video on Instagram from a yacht trip they took, posting it on March 29th with the caption, “It’s all about that look.”

She later shared, “I need to focus on enjoying the moment. It felt like the boat was moving incredibly slowly, but I’m still hopeful and dreaming big!”

Following Britney’s recent DUI arrest, where her representative mentioned her family and friends were working on a plan to help her get better, she appeared to be taking action herself.

Britney Spears spent time in a treatment facility in April, her representative confirmed to TopMob News. She was discharged later that month.
