Britney Spears will not be dragged into this circus.
Following reports that Britney Spears behaved strangely at a Los Angeles restaurant – including shouting and brandishing a knife in front of other diners – her representative released a statement to clarify what happened.
A spokesperson for Britney Spears said the situation was being exaggerated. According to a statement released on May 14th, Spears was simply having a private dinner with her assistant and security guard.
The representative clarified that Britney was just recounting how her dog barked at the neighbors and stated she did not have a knife while at the restaurant, despite claims to the contrary.
Her spokesperson clarified that she never threatened anyone with a knife, explaining that she was simply cutting her hamburger.
The representative stated that the ongoing criticism of her is reminiscent of how the media unfairly portrayed Britney 20 years ago, and they believe it’s unacceptable and needs to end.
Twenty years ago, Britney Spears went through a very public and difficult divorce from Kevin Federline, with whom she shares two sons, Sean Preston (20) and Jayden James (19). The relentless attention from the paparazzi during this time led to a well-known moment in 2007 when she shaved her head, seen as a rebellious act.
In her 2023 memoir, The Woman in Me, Britney Spears wrote about feeling constantly scrutinized throughout her life. From a young age, she experienced unwanted attention and judgment about her appearance. She explained that her rebellious actions, like shaving her head, were her attempts to regain control and fight back against this constant evaluation.
After being under a legal conservatorship for 13 years, the Grammy-winning artist began to regain control of her life and career.
She explained that freedom means accepting and embracing our imperfections, just like everyone else. It also means having the ability – and the right – to find happiness in a way that feels true to ourselves.

Britney Spears recently offered fans a peek into her life. After completing treatment following her March DUI arrest, she shared on Instagram on May 10th that she’s grateful for her friends and the wonderful people she’s connected with while focusing on her spiritual well-being.
She added, “It’s all been a hidden blessing, really. I’m still learning to be kinder to myself and how I talk to myself… It’s a lifelong process, and sometimes I pause, look up, and realize, ‘You know what? That was you, God,’ and just smile!”
For a closer look at Britney’s life after her conservatorship, read on.

Britney Spears expressed overwhelming joy on Instagram after her conservatorship ended on November 12, 2021, writing, ‘I love my fans so much it’s crazy!!!’ She added, ‘I think I’m gonna cry the rest of the day !!!! Best day ever.’
She didn’t attend the court hearing, but was at home with her then-fiancé, Sam Asghari, anticipating the positive outcome.

Britney strongly objected to her sister Jamie Lynn Spears’ new memoir, Things I Should Have Said, and the interviews Jamie Lynn was giving to promote it. She felt Jamie Lynn was trying to profit from the book by sharing stories about her without her permission.
Jamie Lynn admitted her actions were excessive, prompting a response from Britney. On January 13, 2022, Britney unfollowed her sister on Instagram and questioned why Jamie Lynn was discussing their past, specifically comments made on Good Morning America. Britney suggested Jamie Lynn was bringing up old issues to promote a book and profit from her experiences. She pointed out that Jamie Lynn wasn’t very present in her life fifteen years ago, making the current conversation seem self-serving.
As a lifestyle expert, I’ve seen firsthand how damaging false accusations can be. Recently, there’s been a lot of talk surrounding Jamie Lynn, and someone publicly accused her of dishonesty on January 14th, using really harsh language – they said only a truly awful person would fabricate stories like these. It’s a tough situation, and highlights how quickly things can escalate online.
Jamie Lynn shared a message the following day, saying that people often try to damage your reputation most when they’re worried you’ll reveal what really happened.
On January 16th, Britney continued to share her thoughts, writing, “I love you no matter what! Say what you will… it’s really inappropriate for a family to argue publicly like this!”
Following that message, Jamie Lynn reached out to her sister Britney on Instagram, simply saying, “Britney—just call me.”
As a lifestyle expert, I’ve seen family dynamics play out in so many ways, and it’s rarely simple. Recently, while on TopMob’s Daily Pop, I shared a bit about my relationship with my sister, Britney. It’s definitely been up and down, but ultimately, the love is always there. You can’t choose your family, and right now, we’re all navigating a complicated situation. I truly believe everyone deserves the space to work through things in a way that feels right for them, and that’s what we’re all trying to do.

Britney announced on Instagram on April 11, 2022, that she and Sam were expecting their first child together.
Sam shared in a BBC interview, before the news about the baby was released on April 12th, that he feels this should have happened three years ago. He explained that when you deeply love someone, you naturally want to build a life together, and this was something he desired.
Sadly, the couple said in a joint statement May 14 that they had lost their “miracle baby.”

Sam and Britney tied the knot on June 9, 2022, in an intimate ceremony at their L.A.-area home.
I was at a recent event and spotted some amazing faces – Selena Gomez, Madonna, Drew Barrymore, and Paris Hilton were all there! It was a glamorous crowd, though it seems Britney Spears’ sons, Sean and Jayden, weren’t able to make it. Interestingly, her immediate family – her parents, sister, and brother Bryan Spears – weren’t on the guest list either.
Later, Mom and sister showed their support by liking some of the wedding photos on Instagram. Lynne Spears even commented on one of her daughter’s posts, writing, “You look radiant and so happy! Your wedding is a dream come true! Having it at home makes it extra special and meaningful! I’m so happy for you! I love you!”
Britney Spears’ first husband, Jason Alexander – famously married to her for only 55 hours before their annulment in 2004 – showed up uninvited to her wedding and livestreamed his arrival. He was heard telling someone outside the venue, “I’m her first husband. I’m here to crash the wedding because it’s just Sam here. Where is her family?”
Jason was arrested and later pleaded no contest to trespassing.

In an August 2022 interview with ITV, Kevin Federline revealed that his sons, Sean and Jayden, didn’t attend their mother’s wedding and hadn’t been in contact with her for several months.
Britney’s ex-husband explained that their sons started to pull away from her, partially because of revealing photos she posted on Instagram. He said he tries to help them understand that it’s her way of expressing herself, but acknowledges it’s still difficult for them. “It doesn’t take away from the fact of what it does to them. It’s tough,” he said.
Britney responded to news of an upcoming interview with her ex-husband, expressing sadness that he was discussing their relationship with their children. In a post on August 6th, she acknowledged the challenges of raising teenage boys.
The day after a disagreement, Sam defended Britney by criticizing Kevin, claiming he hadn’t consistently worked for over 15 years and would soon lose financial support once Britney stopped paying child support. Kevin’s lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, responded to TMZ, stating that Sam doesn’t understand Kevin’s situation or personal life.
Britney’s lawyer strongly criticized Kevin after he briefly posted old videos of her sons, Sean and Jayden, arguing with their mother when they were 12 and 11 years old. The lawyer called the posting a “cruel” and “low” tactic.
In a statement on August 11, 2022, Britney Spears’ lawyer told TopMob News that she is a devoted and loving mother to her children. The lawyer also stated that Kevin Federline, whether he understands it or not, has disrespected Britney’s privacy and, more importantly, has harmed his own children by sharing private information about them.

In January 2023, TMZ published a video of Britney Spears appearing to talk to herself while at a restaurant. Reports then spread claiming she had become upset during the meal and that her husband, Sam, had left in anger.
After an incident caught on video by TMZ, Sam explained that people often get overly enthusiastic when they see his wife. He said it’s disrespectful when people start filming them while they’re trying to eat. According to Sam, Britney’s unusual behavior was a reaction to feeling like people were invading their privacy. He also clarified that he had simply walked ahead to get the car ready.
Later that month, deputies from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office visited Britney’s home to check on her well-being. This happened after many fans contacted them with concerns when she briefly deleted her Instagram account, according to a spokesperson for the sheriff’s office. They quickly confirmed that Britney was safe and not in any danger.

In an Instagram post on February 9, 2023, Britney Spears said that the most worrying rumors about her health deeply upset her.
She excitedly announced that after years of wanting to, she finally made lasagna from scratch! She also shared that her fireplace is working, jokingly adding that, as her husband says, you shouldn’t believe everything you see online.
She continued, saying she was bothered by recent news reports that claimed she’d nearly died and had a manager and doctors. She clarified that she doesn’t have a management team and never wants one, and that she only takes Prozac for depression – she doesn’t see any other medical professionals. She described herself as a very ordinary person.
Sam stated to Access Hollywood that his wife is fully capable of making her own healthcare decisions, and she will continue to do so, no matter what. He asked that people stop speculating about her health, calling it disrespectful and unwarranted.

Britney Spears and her mother, Lynne, reunited in person in May 2023 after three years of not seeing each other. Britney shared on Instagram that her mother unexpectedly came to her house, and while family relationships can be complicated and require work, she believes time can help heal old hurts.
After finally sharing feelings I’d kept bottled up for a long time, I feel incredibly grateful we were able to work things out. I love you so much!
That June, Britney shared that she’d also visited Jamie Lynn on the set of Zoey 102.

In a letter dated May 31, 2023, Britney Spears’ lawyer informed Kevin Federline’s lawyer that she wouldn’t fight his plan to move their sons, Sean and Jayden, to Hawaii with his wife, Victoria Prince, and her daughters. The Federline family then moved to Hawaii in early August.
According to Page Six, Kevin’s lawyer stated that Britney likely spoke with her sons a few weeks prior, but it’s unclear if they’ve connected since they relocated.

After months of speculation about a possible split – fueled by Britney vacationing without her husband and Sam being seen without his wedding ring (which his representative explained was simply because he was filming) – the couple has officially broken up after 14 months of marriage.
According to a source close to the situation, Britney and Sam have decided to separate, and it’s the best course of action for her. Sam filed for divorce on August 16, 2023, stating they had differences that couldn’t be resolved, according to court filings obtained by TopMob News.
Sam Asghari’s representative has dismissed reports that he’s trying to change their prenuptial agreement or using videos to threaten Britney Spears. Brandon Cohen of BAC Talent told TopMob News that all of these claims are untrue, and that Sam has always supported Britney and will continue to do so.
Britney recently shared that she and Sam have separated. In an August 18th Instagram post, she admitted she was surprised by how fast things fell apart. She explained she doesn’t feel obligated to share the details, stating it’s a private matter, but confessed she could no longer cope with the emotional pain.
The musician shared that she was trying to remain positive, and ended her message with an enthusiastic, “I’m doing really well!” She wished everyone a good day and reminded them to smile.
Or, as she captioned a throwback pic from the ’00s on Aug. 24, “F–k with me…I dare you.”

In February 2022, Britney Spears agreed to a deal worth around $15 million with Simon & Schuster to write her life story.
And reader, she did. The Woman in Me came out Oct. 24, 2023 in all its bombshell-packed glory.
Just before her book came out, the celebrity announced on Instagram that she’s moved on from her breakup with Sam. She described it as a fresh start, adding, “That’s all there is to it, and life happens!”

About six months after Kevin’s lawyer mentioned Britney had been talking to her sons on the phone to Entertainment Tonight, she was given more access to them.
She shared on Instagram that reuniting with her youngest son, Jayden, made this the best Christmas ever! It had been two years since she’d last seen her sons, and she described being overwhelmed with happy tears and feeling incredibly grateful and blessed. She expressed being lost for words and thanked God for the reunion.
She shared more details with her fans on New Year’s Eve, excitedly writing that he’s returned, seeming more mature and intelligent. She described him as incredibly talented, saying his presence is powerfully felt and she’s deeply moved by him, to the point of tears every day.

Britney Spears showed she’s moving past her feelings of loneliness with an October 2024 Instagram post announcing she had committed to self-love and acceptance.
She shared a video on October 20th with a caption saying, “The day I married myself,” set to Sting’s “Fields of Gold.” Although some people might consider marrying yourself “embarrassing or silly,” she believes it’s “the best thing I’ve ever done!” She didn’t reveal when the ceremony happened.

Oh, everyone got so excited when Britney posted about adopting a baby girl named Lennon London Spears on Instagram back in July 2025! But honestly, knowing Britney, those three winking emojis were a dead giveaway she was just having a little fun with us. It wasn’t true, she hadn’t actually adopted a baby. It was a playful announcement, that’s all!

Britney Spears’s ex-husband revealed his perspective on their two-year marriage in his memoir, You Thought You Knew, published in October 2025, seemingly without worrying about public backlash.
Beyond describing their troubled relationship, the book also covers Britney Spears’ romance with Justin Timberlake and her challenging connection with her sons. The author, who shares six children with Spears, also expressed worry that she wasn’t doing well and hadn’t fully recovered.
He admitted things with Britney are heading towards a point of no return, and he can no longer pretend everything is alright.
“We’re running out of time,” Kevin said. “If things don’t improve soon, something terrible will happen, and I’m most worried about our sons being the ones who have to deal with the consequences.”

Britney recently accused several family members, not long after her oldest son, Sean, had spent the holidays with his aunt, Jamie Lynn. This follows years of reconnecting with different parts of her family.
The pop star shared a vulnerable post on Instagram on February 5, 2026, explaining that, like everyone, she simply wants to feel connected to others and avoid loneliness. She also revealed she felt fortunate to be alive despite past family issues, but now fears them. The post has since been deleted.
Britney recently reflected on her faith, saying it’s amazing how things seem to happen for a reason. She wondered what message God might be sending, and admitted that, regardless of that message, certain people will likely never own up to their actions.

I just found out the most awful thing! Apparently, someone basically took a piece of Britney’s legacy. TMZ dug up legal papers from February 2026 revealing that back in December, she signed over the rights to all her songs – her entire catalog! – to this company called Primary Wave. It’s like… they own her music now. I’m absolutely devastated for her!

I was shocked to hear the news – TMZ reported that Britney was arrested for DUI in Los Angeles around 9 p.m. on March 4th, according to law enforcement. It was really upsetting to find out.
A representative for Britney released a statement to TopMob News saying they were very sorry for what happened and that it was unacceptable. They added that Britney will fully cooperate with the law and hope this situation will lead to positive changes she needs in her life.
Her sons, Sean and Jayden, were by her side, and her representative shared that they will be spending time with her.

Just as she’d said, Britney’s sons reached out to her after her DUI arrest. She later shared a video on Instagram from a yacht trip they took, posting it on March 29th with the caption, “It’s all about that look.”
She later shared, “I need to focus on enjoying the moment. It felt like the boat was moving incredibly slowly, but I’m still hopeful and dreaming big!”

Following Britney’s recent DUI arrest, where her representative mentioned her family and friends were working on a plan to help her get better, she appeared to be taking action herself.
Britney Spears spent time in a treatment facility in April, her representative confirmed to TopMob News. She was discharged later that month.
