I’m a big fan of Glen Powell, and I think he’s fantastic in the Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous series on Netflix – it really doesn’t get the attention it deserves! Honestly, watching him makes me think he’d be perfect in one of the main Jurassic Park movies. It’s amazing how the Jurassic Park franchise has stayed popular for so long, and it’s clear it’s gone through two distinct phases so far.

The Jurassic Park story began with the original trilogy directed by Steven Spielberg, widely considered one of the greatest filmmakers ever. In 2015, a new series, Jurassic World, launched, starring Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard across three films. Now, the story is continuing with a fresh start – Jurassic World Rebirth – set to release in 2025 and featuring Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey, and Mahershala Ali.

A fifth Jurassic World movie featuring the returning main characters is likely in the works. Beyond the films, the Jurassic World universe has also thrived on Netflix with two popular and highly-rated shows, one of which stars Powell.

The show in question is Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous. With Powell becoming a highly sought-after actor recently, it’s interesting to see him have fun in this exciting animated series. Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous also suggests he could potentially appear in future Jurassic Park movies.

Glen Powell’s Dave Is A Worthy Jurassic Park Franchise Character For The Star

Colin Powell isn’t one of the central characters in Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous. That honor goes to actors like Jenna Ortega from Wednesday, who play the ‘Nublar Six’ – a group of teenagers stranded on the island after the events of the 2015 Jurassic World movie. Powell does have a role, however, voicing Dave, a camp counselor who looks after the teenagers at Camp Cretaceous. He appears as Dave throughout multiple seasons of the Netflix series.

The Jurassic Park series is known for its memorable characters, like Alan Grant and Owen Grady. While Dave Powell doesn’t get as much screen time as those main characters, he’s incredibly likeable and the actor brings a natural charm and great comedic skills to the role. Throughout Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous, Dave shows he’s a kind-hearted person who prioritizes the safety of the teenagers, even when facing dangerous dinosaur situations. He’s fun, engaging, and capable of handling himself physically.

Glen Powell’s Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous Role Should Be Made Live-Action

If actor Glen Powell were to join the Jurassic World films, the perfect role for him would be Dave. This character survived the Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous series, meaning Powell could reprise his voice acting role in live-action. Considering Powell previously turned down a part in a different Jurassic World project because it didn’t feel right, offering him the chance to return as a character he’s already familiar with and voiced for several seasons would likely be more appealing.

Powell’s character, Dave, would work really well alongside Johansson’s Zora Bennett. The actor is right – he wouldn’t have been a good fit for Jurassic World Rebirth, probably because the role offered was Dr. Henry Loomis, which doesn’t play to Powell’s strengths. However, Dave is adventurous, capable in a wild environment, and has the charisma to create a great dynamic with Johansson’s character. Bringing Dave from Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous into a live-action film could create a nice link between Pratt’s Owen and Bailey’s Henry.
