Euphoria Kills Off Major Character With Gruesome Season 3 Death

Nate Jacobs died as he lived: violently.

Jacob Elordi, who played a character that amassed a $1 million debt to dangerous lenders in the third season of Euphoria, has spoken about saying goodbye to the role after almost seven years. His character’s storyline ended tragically.

The actor said he found it fitting that his character met his end ‘in a box, with dust falling on him and a snake coming down the pipe.’ He explained that Nate had made many bad decisions throughout the series, and seeing those choices finally catch up to him felt like a natural conclusion to the character’s story.

Nate owed money to a dangerous loan shark named Naz (Jack Topalian), and was threatened with being buried alive if the debt wasn’t paid within 72 hours. His wife, Cassie Howard (Sydney Sweeney), desperately tried to raise the money to save him. Unfortunately, Nate, who had already lost a toe and a finger due to Naz’s enforcers, died after being bitten by a rattlesnake before Cassie could get him released.

As for what it was like filming the high-stakes scene?

The actor, famous for playing Frankenstein’s monster, remembered being placed inside a coffin for a scene. It was a tight fit – his shoulders touched the sides and he couldn’t move his arms. Then, the crew would seal the lid, leaving him in complete darkness.

Despite everything, it was a pleasant experience. Jacob said, “It was actually really nice and quite peaceful.”

And the snake—a boa constrictor nicknamed Little B, with a fake rattle attached to its tail—was surprisingly good to work with on set.

Jacob described the snake as adorable and affectionate. He said it snuggled up to him, which felt good, but the snake was very sleepy. Jacob gently encouraged it to lift its head.

Nate Jacobs’ story isn’t the only one with a surprising conclusion. Here are some other heartbreaking TV character departures.

Jacob described the snake as very cute and cuddly. He said it snuggled up next to him, which was pleasant, but the snake was quite sleepy. Jacob gently encouraged it to lift its head.

Okay, so Nate Jacobs’ ending? Totally messed me up. But honestly, it’s not even the only time this show just completely blindsided me with a character’s exit! I had to keep searching to see if there were other devastating goodbyes, because seriously, this show is brutal when it comes to letting characters go. I needed to know I wasn’t alone in being shocked!

Bridget Regan, who plays Monica Stevens on The Rookie, revealed her character has a knack for surviving dangerous situations. “She’s gotten out of multiple attempts on her life, served time in prison, and even survived being thrown into a woodchipper,” Regan told TV Insider, reflecting on Monica’s four seasons on the show.

When the attorney character was killed off in an April 2026 episode, honestly, I wasn’t shocked. It felt
right. She’d been on the show for four incredible years, and I just felt so grateful for everything she brought to the role. It was a good run, and I appreciated it.

As a longtime follower of TV dramas, I have to say, the recent farewell to Director Leon Vance on the show was incredibly moving! After 18 years of watching Rocky Carroll bring that character to life, starting in season five, it was a truly emotional moment. The writers marked the show’s 500th episode with a powerful storyline where Vance tragically died in a shootout with a rogue agent. But it wasn’t just a sad goodbye; they gave us a beautiful scene of him being welcomed into heaven by the beloved Ducky Mallard, played by Adam Campbell, which was a lovely way to honor both characters.

Okay, so Chrishell finally said it! She posted online in November that she doesn’t need ‘Selling Sunset’ money-wise anymore, which is amazing! She’s doing so well she has other jobs now, and honestly? She said it’s just not good for her headspace anymore. I’m so glad she’s prioritizing her mental health, even if it means leaving the show. It breaks my heart a little, but I’m totally supportive of her doing what’s best for her!

Jax Taylor has said he won’t be back for season three of The Valley. This decision comes after fans expressed concerns about his actions during the show’s second season.

Okay, so Jax just shared this, and honestly, it’s everything. He said, back in July 2025, that he needs to focus on getting sober and, like, actually dealing with his mental health. And of course, being a good dad to Cruz is huge for him right now, especially with everything going on with Brittany and the divorce. He basically said he needs this time to become the best him he can be, and that’s all for Cruz. It’s just
so good to see him prioritizing that, you know? I’m living for this Jax redemption arc!

Pompeo explained on The Drew Barrymore Show in December 2022 that she needed to try new things. ‘I’m 53, and my brain feels a little frazzled,’ she said. ‘I need to challenge myself. You can’t just do the same thing, like The New York Times crossword, every single day.’ Despite this, she’s already returned for a guest appearance in May and continues to narrate the show.

But she’s not gone for good. Pompeo still pops in and out of Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital.

Okay, so this is devastating. Henry Cavill, my absolute hero, is leaving The Witcher after season three! I mean, Geralt is Henry! But apparently, Liam Hemsworth is taking over the role for season four and beyond. It just…it won’t be the same. I’m honestly heartbroken. How can anyone else be Geralt? It’s just
ugh. I need a moment.
