Get ready! The final trailer for Masters of the Universe is here, and it looks like a fun, slightly over-the-top adventure. Director Travis Knight is bringing the classic franchise back to the big screen with this epic live-action film.

Fifteen years after being separated from his home, Prince Adam (Nicholas Galitzine) returns to Eternia only to find it devastated by the evil Skeletor (Jared Leto). To rescue his family and world, Adam must team up with his friends, Teela (Camila Mendes) and Duncan/Man-At-Arms (Idris Elba), and become He-Man – the universe’s most powerful hero – fulfilling his destiny.

Behind the scenes….

This project has been in the works since 2007, undergoing several changes in creative leadership and even its title – it was once known as “Grayskull.” Initially, Joel Silver was set to produce with a script by Justin Marks, aiming for a visual style similar to Zack Snyder’s “300.” David S. Goyer later wrote the script and was considered as director, but ultimately remained as an executive producer and screenwriter, delivering a script the studio loved. Jared Leto will play Skeletor, though Tom Hardy was originally considered for the role.

To prepare for his role as Adam/He-Man, Nicholas Galitzine underwent intense physical training. Dolph Lundgren, who originally played He-Man, spoke with IGN about potentially appearing in the new film as King Randor. He suggested Chris Hemsworth for the lead role but ultimately decided against it, feeling it was too similar to his role as Thor.

Masters of the Universe is released on 5th June 2026
