Astro Bot, a highly-rated PlayStation 5 game, just got a small update. Sadly, this update isn’t connected to the upcoming State of Play presentation, despite what some might have hoped.
This update brings the game to version 1.019.000 and is a relatively small download at 400 MB. While Team Asobi hasn’t published official details about the changes, early reports on X (formerly Twitter) indicate it’s a minor update with no major new features.
After Genki announced the update, @PeelyMaster replied with a screenshot of a pop-up ad from within the game, advertising PlayStation Tournaments.
During Sony’s Days of Play event, PlayStation 5 owners can join tournaments in games like Astro Bot. If you register, you might see a notification like the one shown.
As far as we can tell, that’s the only addition.
Considering the update happened so close to the State of Play event, it’s easy to see why people thought it might hint at more downloadable content. We’ve gotten surprise Astro Bot DLC in the past, so it wasn’t an unreasonable guess.
Although it’s unlikely, I believe the update will simply introduce a new pop-up about Tournaments.
