Capcom is expected to announce a brand new game in a series that hasn’t seen a new entry since 2017. While the series has had re-releases since then, a completely new game has been missing. That’s about to change, with an announcement planned for sometime this year. Although the exact timing isn’t known, upcoming events like Summer Games Fest and the Xbox Games Showcase seem like likely places for the reveal, potentially meaning the game could even be released before the year is out. The longer we go into 2026 without news, the less likely a release this year becomes.
A new game in the Ace Attorney series is reportedly in development, according to leaker MajorPlayeix, who is usually known for sharing Sega news. This would be the first completely new Ace Attorney title since The Great Ace Attorney 2: Resolve came out on the Nintendo 3DS in 2017. Since then, Capcom has mainly released collections of older games.
Mainline or a Spin-Off Game
That’s all the information we have for now. We still don’t know if this will be a full new Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney game, or a separate spin-off title. While past releases suggest it’s likely a spin-off, fans have been waiting a long time for a new main game, so it’s possible this time will be different.
The Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney visual novel adventure game series first launched in 2001. While it hasn’t become one of Capcom’s biggest franchises, it’s consistently been a part of their lineup for over two decades. More recently, however, Capcom has focused on re-releasing and compiling older titles in the series rather than developing new ones.

Capcom hasn’t officially responded to this report or the rumors surrounding it. We don’t anticipate they will, but we’ll update this article if they do. For now, please remember that this information is based on speculation.
