Jensen Ackles Shares “Concern” About The Boys Season 5’s Supernatural Reunion

In simple terms, The Boys Season 5 has a lot to handle due to being the final installment of the Amazon Prime Video series. Since it’s the last season, it must resolve all the lingering plot points before concluding in the finale episode. The main event is the confrontation between Homelander and Billy Butcher, which the show has been setting up since its early episodes. Additionally, the fate of the team members will be a significant focus as they were captured by Supes at the end of Season 4, who are now under Homelander’s command.

In the finale of Season 4, it’s revealed that Homelander isn’t alone in his associates, as he learns that his supposed father, Soldier Boy, is alive despite being believed to have been destroyed in Season 3. The motives of this villain for his elderly dad aren’t clear, but they won’t be benign. Fortunately, there’s a part of Soldier Boy’s narrative in the final season that appears more favorable.

Eric Kripke, the mind behind “The Boys”, is also known for his work on another popular TV series, “Supernatural”. Impressed by Jensen Ackles’ acting as Dean Winchester, he believed he would excel in his superhero satire show. Interestingly, not only did Ackles join “The Boys” cast, but Misha Collins and Jared Padalecki will also make their debuts in Season 5, with scenes alongside Ackles.

On an episode of “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon“, Ackles shared insights into the organization of the Supernatural reunion, attributing it largely to Kripke. Additionally, he disclosed a worry that the team had regarding how things would unfold when all three actors stood before the cameras.

Jared, Misha, and Jensen being together was amusing due to a slight apprehension that things might get a bit chaotic, given they’ve been working together for 15 years. There’s a wealth of history between them, but at the same time, it was like demolishing a house we’d collectively built – we had the freedom to dismantle it as we pleased. (Ackles’ words)

Ackles playfully teased Padalecki, mentioning that he often needed to remind his on-screen sibling of the correct behavior on set.

Just like many superhero productions, the series “The Boys” prefers to maintain secrecy about its details, so it’s unclear how many scenes the actors from “Supernatural ” will appear in until the show premieres. Luckily, the excitement doesn’t have to stop there since Soldier Boy is getting his own spinoff!

Vought Rising Could Feature More Supernatural Cameos

After wrapping up “The Boys”, creators Eric Kripke and team are planning to delve into the past with “Vought Rising”. This series will center around Soldier Boy and Stormfront’s escapades in the 1950s. It will also shed light on the beginnings of Vought, potentially offering numerous intriguing storylines. Moreover, there are several renowned actors from the “Supernatural” universe yet to join Kripke’s new world, and they might find their place in “Vought Rising”, especially if the show maintains the quirky character dynamics as seen in “The Boys”.

The upcoming series, Vought Rising, doesn’t have a confirmed release date yet, but it will soon go into production. This leaves ample opportunity for creator Eric Kripke to invite some familiar faces for a final adventure.
