Back in 2015, the legendary Akira Toriyama and Toei Animation introduced the global audience to Dragon Ball Super. Over the course of an exciting three-year run, this beloved series kept fans captivated. Now that it’s over, we wonder – what’s next?
Fans have eagerly awaited news about a potential second season of Dragon Ball Super since it concluded in 2018, as they wonder if Toei Animation will continue with another season or shift towards creating more feature films like Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero instead.
Caught me off guard in October 2023, the news arrived that Toei Animation had opted for a fresh start with Dragon Ball DAIMA, introducing an entirely novel narrative.
It seems that Dragon Ball Super might not have concluded entirely. Given that DAIMA appears to be set prior to the events in Super, a second season could seamlessly fit into the timeline, probably covering the Galactic Patrol Prisoner saga from the manga and The Moro Arc.
As I stand here, I can’t help but observe a towering figure with a goat’s head, Moro by name. He’s not your typical adversary; he’s a warrior, an evil one at that, who tests the mettle of the Z warriors. His power is beyond comprehension, as he threatens the very existence of planets by draining their life force.
Following this, anticipation builds for the Granolah: The Survivor storyline – I, a bystander, find this character particularly intriguing given his unique status as the last of a species that the Saiyan Army eradicated eons ago. Tensions are undoubtedly high between him and the Saiyans due to past events.
Here’s everything we know about when to expect Dragon Ball Super Season 2 below.
Will there be a Dragon Ball Super season 2?
As reported by staff members, it seems that Florence Jay Dominguito from Toei Animation Philippines discussed the future of Dragon Ball in a recent interview published on the official Dragon Ball website.
They openly shared their eagerness for upcoming films and merchandise as a fan, and they are equally thrilled about the continuation of Dragon Ball Super in its new anime series.
It has been pointed out by certain individuals that there might have been a minor mistake during the translation process. For instance, Japanese translator Ken Xyro mentioned this on Twitter (formerly known as X).
Instead of saying, “What Dominguito actually said was ‘I’m also excited to find out if there will be another season of Dragon Ball Super’ TV anime,” you can rephrase it more naturally as: “Dominguito expressed his eagerness to discover whether there will be a new installment of the Dragon Ball Super TV series.
For now, should you wish to revisit past series and build anticipation for the upcoming DAIMA series, take a look at this viewing order instead.
When can we expect Dragon Ball Super season 2 news?
It seems quite possible that we won’t get any updates about Dragon Ball Super until Dragon Ball DAIMA finishes airing or publishing first.
