A Quiet Place Part 3 Set Photos Reveal First Look At Cillian Murphy’s Return

Cillian Murphy is returning for the third installment of A Quiet Place, and recent photos from the set offer fans a first glimpse of him back in the world terrorized by creatures that hunt by sound.

In 2021, Djimon Hounsou appeared with Emily Blunt in A Quiet Place Part II, playing Emmett, a friend of the late Lee Abbott (John Krasinski’s character). His character survived the events of the second film, setting him up to return in A Quiet Place Part III. As the movie’s release approaches in just over a year, Hounsou has recently been seen filming a scene with a new cast member.

New set photos, shared by @gofckapineapple, show actor Lupita Nyong’o running alongside a brown building while filming A Quiet Place Part III. Jack O’Connell is seen running behind her. Both actors are wearing practical gear, but it’s not yet clear if they are running from the creatures or simply rushing to another location. These pictures were taken about a month after filming for A Quiet Place Part III officially began.

At the end of A Quiet Place Part II, Emmett helped Regan, Lee and Evelyn’s daughter, reach a radio station with other survivors. He witnessed Regan use the signal from her hearing aid to disable and then kill one of the creatures attacking them. Importantly, Regan left the device running, broadcasting the signal so anyone tuned to that frequency could also weaken the aliens. This allowed Regan’s brother, Marcus, and Emmett’s baby to escape a dangerous situation with his mother.

Details about the story of A Quiet Place Part III are still under wraps, and we don’t yet know how long after the events of Part II the new movie takes place. Djimon Hounsou will play a soldier, but his role is being kept secret. He’s previously appeared in horror films like Sinners and the first two 28 Years Later movies. Katy O’Brian, known for Love Lies Bleeding, and Jason Clarke, from A House of Dynamite, have also joined the cast, though their characters haven’t been revealed.

John Krasinski is directing and wrote the script for the third A Quiet Place movie, just as he did with the second one. He’s also producing the film with Allyson Seeger (Sunday Night) and the team at Platinum Dunes: Michael Bay, Brad Fuller, and Andrew Form. Krasinski revealed the cast for the new movie in March and suggested it might be the last installment in the series.

The next installment in the A Quiet Place series, A Quiet Place Part III, is scheduled to be released in theaters on July 30, 2027. The film will pick up three years after the events of A Quiet Place: Day One, which showed the very beginning of the alien invasion. The A Quiet Place universe now includes a video game, A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead, and a comic book series called A Quiet Place: Storm Warning.
