Dracula is one of the most recognizable and frightening characters in history, inspiring countless books, movies, and other adaptations. This includes Bram Stoker’s original novel, and fans will soon be able to experience that world again with a newly reimagined Dracula game – and it’s coming very soon!
The classic game Fury of Dracula is back with a beautiful new edition from Avalon Hill! Players can choose to be monster hunters trying to track down Dracula, or play as the Count himself, attempting to evade capture and expand his power across Europe. The updated game will feature stunning new artwork and components. You can try it out at Gen Con 2026, and it will be available in stores starting September 1st, 2026.

Fury of Dracula: 5th Edition Creates An Epic Dracula Adventure

In Fury of Dracula: 5th Edition, one player takes on the role of Dracula, beginning the game hidden somewhere in Europe. Each turn, Dracula travels to a new location, leaving a trail – a sequence of six spaces on the board that marks his hideout. He also plays an encounter card at each new location. Dracula’s goal is to spread his influence across the continent, and he wins if he can raise his influence to 13.

Okay, so as you get stronger as Dracula, you really have to be careful! There are these hunters constantly after you, and their whole goal is to track you down and finish you off to win. They’ve got all sorts of things to help them – like special holy bullets, dogs to sniff you out, and cool abilities to make finding you easier. And the worst part? There are five different hunters you’ve got to watch out for!
In this game, you can play as Mina Harker, Van Helsing, Lord Godalming, Dr. John Seward, or Jonathan Harker. Each hunter gets two actions per round, divided between daytime and nighttime. If a hunter moves to the same location as Dracula, a battle begins at either dawn or dusk. If hunters take too much damage in a battle, they must go to the hospital to heal, but they’ll lose all their possessions. The hunters win if they defeat Dracula, but Dracula can retreat to his castle to regain health – revealing his location when he does so.

The dynamic interplay between Dracula and the hunters is what truly makes this game captivating. As the game progresses, the hunters face mounting pressure to locate Dracula, and their growing desperation actually makes him more powerful, putting them at a significant disadvantage. A new ‘quick style’ mode also speeds up the action, adding to the many enjoyable features returning from previous versions. We’re eager to experience it firsthand later this year.
The Fury of Dracula: 5th Edition releases at Gen Con 2026.
