Summer is almost here, and with it comes a wave of new anime! Like the previous seasons, we’ll see both returning favorites with new episodes and plenty of brand-new shows. This season, though, the new series are really grabbing attention, and it looks like that trend will continue. While there are lots of exciting action anime coming out, many viewers are especially excited about the heartwarming and relatable slice-of-life stories.
This summer’s anime season looks really interesting, especially when it comes to romance. There are a lot of unique, slice-of-life stories coming out, but also some that feel more classic. One upcoming anime, in particular, seems to be aiming for the same emotional impact as the film A Silent Voice – a truly beautiful story that realistically portrays romance and the challenges of life. What really stood out about that movie was the connection between the main characters; Shoko’s struggles actually helped Shoya grow and find direction. I’m getting a similar vibe from an upcoming series called Love Unseen Beneath the Clear Night Sky, which is set to debut this summer.
Summer 2026 Could Have the Perfect Replacement For A Silent Voice
Love Unseen Beneath the Clear Night Sky centers around Kakeru Sorano, a quiet college student, and Koharu Fuyutsuki, a vibrant and outgoing girl who happens to be blind. Despite her visual impairment, Koharu is full of life and encourages Kakeru to see the world differently. She has a surprising dream of creating fireworks, and Kakeru is determined to help her fulfill it. Their journey is marked by a special connection and the obstacles they face together, ultimately changing both of their lives.
Koharu’s situation strongly resembles that of Shoko in A Silent Voice. Both characters refuse to let their disabilities limit them, choosing instead to live positive and fulfilling lives. Like Shoko, Koharu’s experiences also have a powerful impact on the male lead, encouraging his personal growth and changing his perspective. This connection beautifully illustrates that even through hardship, there’s always hope and something to be optimistic about.
With a touching story, Love Unseen Beneath the Clear Night Sky looks set to become one of the most feel-good anime series this season. It has the potential to be as emotionally resonant as popular films like A Silent Voice and I Want to Eat Your Pancreas. The series begins airing on July 6th, and is likely to be available for streaming on Crunchyroll, though official platforms haven’t been confirmed yet.
