Andy Reid is ready to touchdown at Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift‘s wedding.

Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid joked about whether he’d been invited to the upcoming wedding. Speaking on 96.5 The Fan on May 14th, he said he likely had received an invitation, adding with a laugh, ‘If I can still fit in my tuxedo, I’ll be there!’

The 68-year-old emphasized that he’s “so happy” for the couple to tie the knot.

Ultimately, the size or spectacle of everything around them doesn’t matter,” he said. “What truly matters is their love for each other.

Although Andy has been Travis’s coach since the beginning of his NFL career, his connection with Taylor’s family goes way back. Taylor has mentioned that Andy and her father, Scott Swift, have been friends for years, and she’s always had good experiences with him.

She remembered not understanding the sports her father’s friend, Andy Reid, played, but immediately recognizing him. She later said she now considers him the most legendary coach ever. Interestingly, even before Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, both 36, announced their engagement on August 26th, Andy was already thinking about the wedding and had an idea for a story to tell in a speech.

He playfully admitted there were some things he couldn’t share, during a radio interview on August 7th with 96.5 The Fan. He explained that the player does a lot of good work outside of football, quietly helping others, and that’s something he truly values and appreciates.

And he was equally full of praise after learning that Travis had popped the question to Taylor.

Okay, so he said it, August 29th, and I just… I can’t stop thinking about it! He was so sweet, saying how rare it is to really fall in love, and how happy he is for them! It just feels so genuine, you know? He really thinks this is a big deal for both of them, and honestly, I think it’s amazing to hear him say that. It just makes me so happy for them too! I’m just living for this moment.

Andy – he and Tammy Reid have been together since 1981, which is amazing – pointed that out, and I totally agree. While the Kansas City Chiefs tight end certainly could have found time for a wedding in October, which is Taylor’s favorite month, getting married “during the bye week” just doesn’t sound as romantic as having a more relaxed period to celebrate.

Depending on the wedding date, his younger daughter Bennett might also be a flower girl. However, the youngest, baby Finnley, will probably be too little to participate.
