Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced Won’t Let You Use the Hidden Blade as a Separate Weapon

With Ubisoft rebuilding after a difficult year and lacking major new titles, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced could be their most significant game in some time. The teams at Ubisoft Singapore and Vantage Studios have emphasized staying true to the original story and character of Edward Kenway, though it’s not a perfect recreation.

Initially, it was announced that the game wouldn’t include multiplayer or downloadable content, and the details of the modern-day story were still uncertain. Now, it appears players also won’t be able to use the Hidden Blade as its own dedicated weapon, unlike in previous games.

According to creative director Paul Fu, in a Reddit AMA, Edward will primarily fight using dual swords. The Hidden Blade isn’t a weapon you can choose to equip, but rather a powerful, cinematic finishing move triggered when an enemy’s defenses are broken!

Unlike the first game, the Hidden Blade Takedown is now a key part of fighting, and many fans aren’t happy about that. The developers’ statement received a lot of negative feedback, with players expressing disappointment and requesting the feature be included in the updated version.

It’s still uncertain if they’ll provide ongoing support, but it’s possible. Assassin’s Creed Shadows has received many updates over the past year, including important features like a detailed stats screen and manual jumping. Only time will reveal what happens next.

On July 9th, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced will be available on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC. You can find everything you need to know about the game’s interface (HUD), including how to customize or turn it off completely, at this link.
