Okay, so I’ve been playing Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, and honestly, it’s nailing everything I loved about the original game – pretty much everything! The biggest change, though, is the interface. They’ve totally revamped the HUD, and it’s way better. Swapping between my pistols and the Hidden Blade is so much faster and smoother now, and it just looks cleaner overall. It feels great!
That’s exactly what Ubisoft aimed for: a system that’s easier to understand, fits the game’s situation better, and can be fully adjusted to each player’s preferences – much like the approach they took with Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
The game starts with four different options for how information is displayed on your screen, called HUD presets. These are Default, Simple, Minimal, and Disabled. The Default setting shows almost everything, including combat info, button hints, and the map. Simple removes some of the extra highlights and reminders, but still provides all the important information you need for fighting and exploring.
Minimal mode will display helpful hints, your character’s health, and the aiming range for the Jackdaw’s cannons. Conversely, Disabled mode removes nearly all on-screen elements, creating a completely immersive experience. Ultimately, you’re in control – customize everything to your liking, including visual effects and gore.
This means getting rid of things like enemy health bars, visual cues for attacks, the meter showing how visible you are, and even outlines when you’re trying to sneak. The goal is to make the game more immersive for players.
The updated version of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag, now called Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, will be available on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC starting July 9th. You can find more information about it here.
