After 11 years, the manga series Black Clover has concluded, and the story finally shows a showdown between Asta and Yuno to determine who is the stronger wizard. The final arc, which began in 2023 and was called the “Ultimate Wizard King Arc,” hinted at a battle to decide who would become the next Wizard King, as the current Wizard King, Julius, had been taken over by Lucius Zogratis. The arc ultimately revealed which of the two rivals would claim the title.
Everyone wondered who would become the next Wizard King after the war against the Paladins. Both Asta and Yuno proved themselves as heroes throughout the conflict, and both seemed capable of leading the Clover Kingdom. Ultimately, they faced each other in a final battle, where Asta emerged victorious and earned the title of Wizard King.
Black Clover Ends Asta vs. Yuno Rivalry With Final Fight

Chapter 390 of Black Clover takes place six months after the battle with Lucius Zogratis. The Clover Kingdom is now deciding who should be the next Wizard King: Asta or Yuno. Both proved themselves during the war with incredible power, so they’ve decided to settle it with a duel. The fight shows how much they’ve grown stronger and how well they know each other’s abilities, making them ideal rivals.
Yuno has a lot of magical power, making it hard for Asta to negate his spells, and Asta’s speed prevents Yuno from landing effective physical attacks. The fight came down to which of them would run out of energy first – Yuno’s magic or Asta’s stamina. However, Asta’s clever use of his Anti-Magic and superior physical strength allowed him to defeat Yuno and become the new Wizard King. Despite the loss, Yuno is happy for Asta.
Asta Needed to Beat Yuno for Black Clover to Truly End

For ten years, the competition between Asta and Yuno was central to the story of Black Clover, and it always seemed destined to end with one of them becoming the Wizard King. Some fans feared a different outcome, but the final chapters confirmed their expectations. Ultimately, the story was about Asta’s incredible journey, rising from having nothing to become the strongest fighter in the Clover Kingdom through his own hard work.
Yuno was the ideal opponent for Asta because he naturally possessed everything Asta lacked. While Yuno didn’t have to struggle for his power, Asta’s relentless dedication inspired him to push himself. For the story to feel complete, Asta needed to win their final battle – it wouldn’t have been as satisfying otherwise. Asta’s strength came from his unwavering self-belief, and in the end, that’s what led him to victory.
