Please be aware that this article contains spoilers for the Black Clover manga! After over a decade, Yuki Tabata’s popular action-fantasy series, Black Clover, is nearing its end. The manga began its final story arc in 2022 and moved to a quarterly release schedule in Shueisha’s Jump GIGA magazine in 2023. Since then, it’s been delivering two or three chapters per quarter, focusing on the climactic battle against the main villain, Lucius Zogratis. The slower pace is rewarding, offering fans beautiful color pages, exciting twists, and incredible artwork. The manga released three new chapters on January 5th, 2026, in the Winter 2026 Jump GIGA issue. With the fight against Lucius now over, the story is focusing on the consequences of the massive battle.
The series will be back on May 1st, 2026, with three new chapters. This new release will also include extra merchandise and a conversation with Gakuto Kajiwara, the actor who voices Asta in the anime. Kajiwara will talk about both how the manga concluded and what fans can expect when the anime returns. Black Clover Might End in Jump GIGA Spring 2026 Issue

The recent conflict with Lucius Zogratis concluded with a win for the Magic Knights, restoring peace to the Clover Kingdom. Sadly, this victory came at a great cost – the death of the Wizard King, Julius Novachrono. He sacrificed himself using his powerful Time Magic to protect the kingdom. With Julius gone, the future of the Clover Kingdom is now uncertain.
As Julius, the Wizard King, nears the end of his life, he places his faith in four powerful knights – Yami, William, Asta, and Yuno – entrusting the future of the Clover Kingdom to them. With the story nearing its end, one of these four is likely to become the new leader. The latest issue is building towards the manga’s climactic finale.
Black Clover‘s Anime Is All Set For Its Return This Year

As the manga nears its conclusion, the anime is coming back this year to continue the popular Spade Kingdom Arc. The anime left viewers on a cliffhanger, only covering the beginning of this arc. Originally premiering in 2017, the Black Clover anime caught up to the manga in 2021, leading to a lengthy pause. After a wait of over four years, the anime’s return was announced last year, accompanied by a fantastic new visual.
Many fans consider the Spade Kingdom Arc to be the highlight of the manga. It features a major battle where the Magic Knights and mages from the Heart Kingdom, after months of preparation, attack the Spade Kingdom. Their goal is to defeat the Dark Triad and save Yami Sukehiro and William Vangeance. Although information about when the anime will return is limited, fans are anticipating announcements once the manga finishes its run.
