Between late May and the end of August, several highly anticipated movies are scheduled for release, and many could be among the biggest hits of 2026. These films range from the return of beloved franchises to fresh, exciting new stories. With a strong lineup across various genres, the summer of 2026 is shaping up to be a fantastic time for big-budget moviegoers.
This single issue, created by Charles Soule and Kev Walker, reveals the backstory of the new villain, Torment, and brings the story to a satisfying conclusion. I expected a fairly average ending, but was pleasantly surprised by this excellent, villain-focused issue that felt like the perfect way to wrap things up.
Mariko Tamaki’s writing and Amancay Nahuelpan’s art come together in Barbara Gordon: Breakout #1 to show that Barbara Gordon didn’t accidentally get captured – she intentionally allowed it to happen. This is because the villain, Savage, is using his Supermax prison not to hold criminals, but to control his personal enemies. Although this first issue focuses on setting up the story and Barbara’s risky mission, it’s a compelling read with all the elements of a strong prison thriller.
Following a lengthy legal dispute between the publisher and developer, Subnautica 2 is now available for players to try in Early Access. The length of Early Access varies from game to game – it could last a year or more, or just a few months as developers polish the final product. Many popular and critically acclaimed games, including some Game of the Year nominees, have successfully used Early Access to improve their games before the official release.
Matt Braly recently announced some exciting news about his previously canceled film, Afterworld. A Thai animation studio, The MONK Studios, based in Bangkok, has picked up the project. While the film isn’t currently funded or in production, The MONK Studios will be at the Annecy animation festival seeking partners and investors. Braly credits the renewed interest in Afterworld to the strong public support it received earlier this year, which has already generated a lot of buzz.
Dan Slott often receives criticism for the controversial “One More Day” storyline, but he’s a genuinely talented Spider-Man writer with a strong understanding of the character and his universe. He’s teamed up with artist Marcus To, who is very skilled but hasn’t yet gotten the widespread recognition he deserves – they previously collaborated on a few issues of Superman Unlimited earlier this year. While this comic has the potential to be great, it unfortunately includes some frustrating elements.
I’m so excited! Hasbro and Amazon are putting on the Beyblade X Grand Prix, and ADK Emotions NY Inc. and T-Licensing Inc. are helping out too. It all kicks off with qualifying rounds in Canada on July 25th at Vaughan Mills, and then there will be more qualifiers across the US in August. The Canada Grand Prix is happening on August 29th, and the US Grand Prix is on September 5th. This isn’t a classic Godzilla tale, but it captures everything fans love about the monster, especially when set in the famously boastful state of Texas. If you embrace the larger-than-life image of Texas, you might not enjoy this comic. However, if you’re open to seeing Godzilla used to playfully poke fun at – and celebrate – some of the state’s most famous products, then this comic is perfect for you.
Although specifics about Project Saluki remain unknown, analyst Corden suggests it could include games officially approved for release in China through its subscription service. The service is also likely to feature more games with in-game purchases and other microtransactions, following the trends of successful games in that region.
