Spider-Man is Marvel’s most recognizable hero, but Superman is often considered the definitive superhero, not just for DC Comics, but for the entire comic book medium. Both characters have been portrayed by multiple actors in live-action films – Superman has had several, and Spider-Man has seen three main actors take on the role. Currently, David Corenswet plays Superman, and Tom Holland is the current Spider-Man.

As a big horror fan, I’ve always loved The Howling. It’s a werewolf movie directed by Joe Dante – the guy who did Gremlins – and it was seriously ahead of its time with the special effects. Rob Bottin did amazing work, and the on-screen transformations were groundbreaking for the era. The cast was great too, with Dee Wallace leading the way alongside Patrick Macnee, Dennis Dugan, Christopher Stone, Belinda Balaski, and Kevin McCarthy.

The movie takes place in the peaceful summer town of Bayleen Bay, but things quickly turn terrifying when an ice cream truck arrives and its treats cause a disturbing change in the local children. The film shows a series of scenes depicting a group of kids losing their minds.
