I was listening to an interview with Charlie Cox recently, and he was talking about his great relationship with Tom Hiddleston – they’ve worked together a lot in the MCU. What really surprised me was hearing that Tom was actually supposed to direct an episode of Daredevil: Born Again! Apparently, before the strikes, Season 1 was planned to be 18 episodes long, and Tom was lined up to direct one of them. It’s a shame that didn’t happen, but it’s cool to know they were considering it.

Most teenage girls spend their last summer before turning eighteen with friends and parties, but Ivy’s summer is different. The Harry Potter books by J.K. Rowling have become incredibly popular on film, and in early 2021, Warner Bros. announced a new TV series for HBO. The show will be created by Francesca Gardiner and Mark Mylod, who both worked on Succession, and will initially cover the events of the first book, The Sorcerer’s Stone. It’s scheduled to debut on December 25th.

A new trailer has been released for A24’s upcoming film, Tony. The movie tells the story of a 19-year-old Anthony Bourdain and his summer working in a restaurant kitchen in Provincetown, an experience that significantly impacted his life. Tony is directed by Dominic Sessa and stars Emilia Jones, Dagmara Dominczyk, Rich Sommers, Stavros Halkias, Leo Woodall, and Antonio Banderas.

As a lifelong movie fan, I’ve always found the most compelling monster flicks are the ones that either cleverly reinvent a classic concept or bravely try something totally original. It’s funny, though – sometimes those really innovative films, the ones that truly stand out, end up getting overlooked and forgotten, even years down the line. It’s a real shame, because those are often the ones worth revisiting.

Despite consistently positive reviews, Nia DaCosta’s films haven’t yet found a large audience in theaters, which is a shame. She deserves to be recognized among Hollywood’s most promising new directors, and her work backs that up. Since 2019, DaCosta has directed five films, all of which have been well-received by critics.

I’m absolutely blown away by Netflix’s adaptation of this incredible 72-year-old survival story! It just dropped yesterday, and I’m already telling everyone about it. Netflix has given us so much great content this year – from the thrilling action of Man on Fire to the continuing saga of The Lincoln Lawyer. But what I also appreciate is that they bring over fantastic shows from other countries too, giving them a wider audience. This new series really stands out, though – it’s truly remarkable.

The series Strange New Worlds changed established Star Trek history by revealing that Sam Kirk was a crew member on the USS Enterprise before his brother, James, became Captain. Strange New Worlds also showed a friendship developing between Sam and Captain Christopher Pike (played by Anson Mount), while James Kirk quickly gained recognition in Starfleet while serving on the USS Farragut.

Despite the success of its previous seasons, Reacher Season 4, expected in late 2026, is heading in a new direction. The upcoming season, based on the book Gone Tomorrow, will shift the focus away from Reacher’s personal history and concentrate on the present-day action. This change in storytelling could ultimately solidify Reacher’s place among the top action shows of the 21st century.

The movie follows Odysseus, the king of Ithaca, on his dangerous ten-year voyage back home after the Trojan War. It’s a story about courage, faithfulness, cleverness, and fighting against fate. We see him face famous challenges like the one-eyed giant Polyphemus, the enchanting but deadly Sirens, and the powerful sorceress Circe, finally leading to a heartwarming reunion with his wife, Penelope.
