The unique play White Rabbit Red Rabbit – where each performance features a different actor reading the script for the very first time, without any prior rehearsal – is coming back to London’s West End to celebrate its 15th anniversary. A fantastic group of actors has already been confirmed to participate.
David Tennant and Jodie Whittaker, both known for their roles in Doctor Who, will star in a new production of Nassim Soleimanpour’s play. Tennant will perform on June 15th, and Whittaker on July 13th.
Several actors have already joined the cast, including David Harewood (confirmed June 8th), Jo Joyner (June 22nd), Asim Chaudhry (June 29th), Luke Thompson (July 6th), Kathryn Hunter (July 20th), Kunal Nayyar (July 27th), Archie Madekwe (September 21st), and Riz Ahmed (September 28th).
More actors will be announced soon for the show, which runs at the Duchess Theatre from June 8th to November 2nd. Tickets are available now.
The cast for the play has been finalized. Playwright Nassim Soleimanpour and director Omar Elerian, frequent collaborators, are starting a new theatre company called There & Then. Their first production will be a revival of Soleimanpour’s play, White Rabbit Red Rabbit, and it’s being produced in association with Nica Burns.

According to Soleimanpour, who shared this in a statement, we are shaped by the stories we choose to share and, equally importantly, by the stories we finally find the courage to tell.
Our journey started with the experimental play White Rabbit Red Rabbit. Over the years, working closely with Omar Elerian, we’ve developed a unique style of theatre. This has led us to form a new company, and we’re thrilled to launch with a production in partnership with Nica Burns and Nimax, sharing this exciting new phase with audiences.

Elerian expressed great enthusiasm about starting this new creative project with Nassim Soleimanpour, whom he described as a close collaborator.
We’re thrilled to bring a new and unique experience to London’s West End. We believe audiences will love the exciting and spontaneous nature of our performances, which focus on being fully present, immediate, and embracing the unexpected.
Honestly, after watching this, I felt a real sense of hope. It’s a reminder that even when things feel shaky, taking chances, letting your imagination run wild, and the simple act of telling stories are still incredibly powerful things – things that can actually change us.
This isn’t the first time David Tennant and Jodie Whittaker have worked together. They’ve both famously played the Doctor on Doctor Who, and they also appeared together in the ITV crime series Broadchurch.
