Emmerdale reveals Dingles’ revenge plot as Joe Tate remains oblivious to their scheming in early ITVX release

Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) has no idea of what’s about to hit him in Emmerdale.

This businessman has a history of taking advantage of others, but he may have finally encountered a challenge he can’t overcome with the Dingle family.

Moira Dingle recently found out that Joe forced Robert Sugden to hide passports belonging to the people Ray Walters and Celia Daniels were exploiting. The passports were hidden at Butler’s Farm.

She was falsely accused and imprisoned for several months, facing charges of human trafficking and double murder. If Robert hadn’t agreed to something, Joe would have revealed a video proving Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins) killed her half-brother, John (Oliver Farnworth), to the police.

Robert felt terrible about what he’d done and decided to confess. Moira was understandably angry, but she assured him she wouldn’t involve the police. His real worry was Cain (Jeff Hordley), who was likely to be much more upset.

I was completely on the edge of my seat! She was so driven by revenge that she went straight to Home Farm, shotgun aimed right at Joe. He desperately pleaded with her not to shoot, and then, thankfully, started yelling for Graham Foster when he heard him coming. It was a really tense moment!

Dawn Fletcher (Olivia Bromley) showed up next, and she managed to stop Moira by announcing she was expecting Joe’s child.

Joe assured her he was being completely honest, and while he knew about Robert’s actions, he insisted it was his own plan to take over Butler’s. She didn’t seem convinced, though.

Today, she visited Wishing Well Cottage, hoping Moira could explain what was happening. She knew Joe could be difficult, but she didn’t want to believe he’d be cruel enough to take Moira’s children away from their mother.

Dawn felt completely stuck and returned to Joe, explaining she’d been searching for the right moment to tell her ex-husband, Billy, that she was pregnant. Joe reassured her of his love and promised to be honest from now on, but this actually made Dawn realize she needed to do something about the situation.

Meeting with Moira and Cain on a country road, the trio began to put a plan in place.

Moira advised Dawn to see things differently and to ensure Joe faced consequences for what he’d done. She wished they could rebuild their relationship, get married, and then get everything he owed them.

Dawn promised that she would handover the funds to the Dingles, which would further enrage Joe.

Will Joe find out about their scheme, and will Dawn crumble under the pressure?

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 8pm on ITV1 and from 7am on ITVX.
