Calling the Avengers “Earth’s Mightiest Heroes” suggests that all its members are native to the planet. This idea is reinforced by the team’s original members – even though Captain America and the Hulk gained powers through human technology, they were still born and raised on Earth. As the team grew to include heroes like Scarlet Witch and Black Panther, their abilities continued to originate from Earth itself or were the result of experiments conducted here.
While the Avengers are known for their human heroes, the team has always included members who aren’t human. From the very first movie, non-Earth characters have joined the ranks, and as the Avengers have grown, so has the number of alien or otherwise non-human heroes. Now, there are enough of these characters to rank them by power, considering their abilities both within and outside of the Avengers films.
5) Rocket

I’ve always been amazed by Rocket! If the Avengers – or even the Guardians – need some seriously powerful firepower, he’s the one you call. But honestly, when I think about his raw strength compared to the other heroes, he tends to fall a little short. It’s not that he’s a bad teammate – far from it! He’s a brilliant strategist, and we see that in both Avengers movies. It’s just that in a straight-up fight, he really relies on his incredible weapons and his skill with them. He’s definitely one of my favorite characters in the whole MCU, but let’s be real, he’s not the strongest!
4) Nebula

After Rocket, Nebula is the Avenger who’s undergone the most modifications. She began as a Luphomoid, but isn’t fully organic anymore. In Avengers: Endgame, she demonstrated her unique abilities during the time heist by using her robotic arm to grab the Power Stone, even though it meant the arm was severely damaged. No other Avenger could have done that without help. Nebula is also a skilled fighter and strategist in the battle against Thanos, but she isn’t as powerful as some of the other non-human members of the team.
3) Vision

Vision quickly established himself as one of the MCU’s most powerful Avengers upon his arrival, thanks to his Vibranium construction and exceptional intelligence – he even assisted Tony Stark! He demonstrated his incredible power through several heroic acts. In Avengers: Age of Ultron, he single-handedly defeated the last of Ultron (though Ultron was already weakened and operating from a damaged body). Even more impressively, Vision proved worthy of lifting Thor’s hammer, accomplishing this feat years before Captain America could.
However, Thanos actually kills Vision without needing any of the Infinity Stones, simply ripping the Mind Stone from his forehead. While Vision was a powerful and valuable Avenger, his relatively easy defeat is a significant drawback.
2) Thor

It’s undeniable that Thor, the Asgardian God of Thunder, is one of the strongest non-human characters in the Avengers, and throughout the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe. His appearances in the Avengers films demonstrate incredible resilience – like when he forged Stormbreaker – and immense strength, as seen when he effortlessly defeated hordes of Outriders. Although he initially lost to Thanos, he returned stronger and defeated him with just two hits. Whether wielding Mjølnir, Stormbreaker, or even a makeshift weapon, Thor is a powerful and capable fighter who can stand toe-to-toe with the MCU’s biggest threats. There’s one thing…
1) Captain Marvel

Carol Danvers, originally from Earth, became a hybrid of human and Kree DNA after the events of her first movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She’s incredibly powerful, so Marvel often has to come up with reasons why Captain Marvel isn’t involved in the Avengers’ conflicts – she’s strong enough to resolve them herself, making the team seem less necessary.
Let me tell you, Captain Marvel really shines in her confrontations with Thanos. She doesn’t just hold her own – she restrains him single-handedly early on, and later, she goes toe-to-toe with him, barely even reacting to his attacks! Honestly, the only other hero in Endgame who put up a comparable fight on their own was Scarlet Witch, and even then, Thanos needed a ship to take her down. But Carol? She doesn’t just fight Thanos, she destroys the ship that was bothering Scarlet Witch, flying right through it and sending it plummeting to Earth. It’s clear she’s an incredibly powerful, truly iconic hero, and frankly, it feels like her power has almost no limit.
