Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 Director Already Has 40+ Playthroughs, Excited About Current Progress

Although director Naoki Hamaguchi hasn’t shared much about the third Final Fantasy 7 Remake game, he recently told Nintendo Life that he’s completed the game’s story mode over 40 times.

We’re really pleased with how the game is coming along. I’ve personally played through it over 40 times already! We’re eager to share it with everyone and are working hard to make sure players have a truly memorable experience.

So, I was asking about when we might see the next Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth release, and the interviewer pressed him about how quickly it’s coming after Intergrade, especially with Rebirth hitting on June 3rd. Hamaguchi got a little coy and hinted that the whole trilogy might be wrapping up sooner than we expect! He basically said releasing the games relatively close together is helping the story flow better overall, which is pretty exciting if you ask me.

He explained that big games like this often have long waits between releases. But because these were ports of existing games, they were able to release them more quickly. They now want to keep up this pace and create a seamless experience for players, connecting the Remake, Rebirth, and the upcoming third game without any significant delays.

Hamaguchi recently stated that while the team is adding unique elements to the Final Fantasy 7 story in the Remake trilogy, they don’t intend to significantly alter the main plot.

I completely trust Kazushige Nojima’s story, and I won’t change it based on my own opinions. However, because these remakes look so much more realistic, sticking exactly to how events happened and when in the original game can sometimes feel awkward or unbelievable.

Look, if the game tries to tell me it’s a different time or date, but it doesn’t feel right, it totally pulls me out of the experience. It just ruins the immersion and makes it hard to care about what’s happening.
