Michael B. Jordan has consistently achieved success throughout his career, but 2025 feels like a particularly significant moment for him. While he’s known for major films like the Creed series and Black Panther, his recent starring role in the original blockbuster Sinners – where he delivered an outstanding performance in two different roles – really boosted his popularity. It’s no surprise he’s now being considered for many high-profile projects, including the upcoming Miami Vice reboot directed by Joseph Kosinski.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Michael B. Jordan is in discussions to star in a new movie based on the 1980s crime series. If he accepts the role, he will play Ricardo Tubbs, a character previously portrayed by Philip Michael Thomas in the original TV show and Jamie Foxx in the 2006 film. The role of James Crockett, Tubbs’ partner in the Miami Metro-Dade Police Department, has not yet been cast.
Joseph Kosinski, fresh off the success of his 2025 film F1 (starring Brad Pitt), is directing a new Miami Vice movie. The screenplay is being written by Eric Warren Singer, who co-wrote Top Gun: Maverick, and Dan Gilroy, the writer and director of Nightcrawler.
As a huge Michael B. Jordan fan, I’m really excited about all the projects he’s got going on! It’s great to see him expanding beyond just acting – he’s building a whole franchise universe. Right now, he’s actually directing and starring in a remake of The Thomas Crown Affair, which sounds fantastic. And that’s not all! He’s also working on Rainbow Six, continuing the story from Without Remorse, Creed IV (which he’s confirmed is happening!), and even I Am Legend 2 alongside Will Smith. It’s a busy time for him, and I can’t wait to see everything come together.
More to come…
