Okay, so Forza Horizon 6 is coming out in less than two months, and they just dropped the PC system requirements! If I want to run it looking really good – think high settings at 1440p and a smooth 60+ frames per second – I’ll need at least an Intel Core i5-12400F, 32GB of RAM, an SSD, and a graphics card like an RTX 3060 Ti, RX 6700 XT, or an Arc A580. Not terrible, honestly, but definitely a bit of an upgrade for me!
If you really want the best graphics possible, I’ve been looking into what it takes. It seems like you’ll need a powerful CPU – either an Intel Core i7-12700K or an AMD Ryzen 7 7700X – along with 32 GB of RAM and a seriously good graphics card, like an RTX 5070 Ti or RX 9070 XT. You’ll also want a fast NVMe SSD. With all that, you should be able to max out the settings – including ray tracing for realistic reflections and lighting – and hit 60+ frames per second at 4K resolution, but using upscaling. Honestly, I’m curious if an even more powerful graphics card could handle true, native 4K without needing upscaling.
The game offers many ways to achieve excellent performance, with support for Nvidia DLSS 4, AMD FSR 3/4, and Intel XeSS 2.1. It also supports high frame rates and ultrawide monitors, and Playground Games says controllers and racing wheels will work well. Plus, it’s been optimized for handheld devices like the Xbox ROG Ally and Steam Deck, although specific performance details for those platforms haven’t been released yet. One thing that’s still unknown is how much storage space the game will require.
Launching on May 19th for Xbox Series X/S and PC, Forza Horizon 6 significantly expands on the previous game with its largest and most detailed map yet. The game features a massive version of Tokyo City – so large, it functions like a distinct region and is five times bigger than any city featured in past Forza Horizon titles.
Forza Horizon 6 takes full advantage of the PC, delivering stunning graphics in 4K HDR, improved ray tracing, and incredibly smooth framerates. Explore the breathtaking landscapes of Japan with support for ultrawide monitors and the latest video technology. See the recommended PC specifications to ensure a great experience.
