Sky has announced the UK release date for ‘Ponies,’ the new spy thriller starring Emilia Clarke, who will be joined by a popular actor from ‘The White Lotus’.
A star from Game of Thrones will play the lead role with Haley Lu Richardson in a new action series taking place in Moscow in 1977.
PONIES has now been confirmed to launch on Sky and NOW from 22 May.
The actresses play Bea Grant and Twila Hasbeck, government employees jokingly referred to as “PONIES” – an acronym meaning “persons of no interest.”
Bea is a refined and dedicated woman who moved to Russia with her husband to support his government work. She’s a scholar and a loving wife who appreciates tradition.
Unlike her husband, Twila is dissatisfied in her marriage and approaches life with a relaxed, and occasionally impulsive, manner.

Their lives take a dramatic turn when they receive news that their husbands have died in battle, but the circumstances surrounding the deaths raise questions and seem unusual.
Determined to uncover the truth, they left their office jobs at the American Embassy and underwent training to become CIA agents.
Spies were rarely women back then, but this pair quickly found themselves in the USSR, befriending KGB members and discovering a large-scale plot.
Despite their differences, the two quickly became friends and found themselves facing growing danger as they worked to uncover the truth.
The series also stars Adrian Lester, Artjom Gilz, Nicholas Podany, and Harriet Walter.

When the eight-part series debuted on Peacock in the US in January 2026, it received overwhelmingly positive reviews and a 96% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Susanna Fogel and David Iserson, the creators of the show, are eager to begin working on a second season, but it hasn’t been officially approved yet. They told Deadline they’re prepared to start as soon as they get the go-ahead.
All episodes will be available upon release.
PONIES launches May 22nd on Sky and NOW.
