Hayley Kiyoko Teases Wedding Timeline After Becca Tilley Engagement

Hayley Kiyoko is embracing her latest chapter with her pretty girl.

With her first time directing the movie Girls Like Girls coming up next month, singer Hayley Kiyoko has been talking about wedding plans with her future wife, Becca Tilley. She shared an update on where they stand with preparations.

Hayley shared with TopMob News at the Asian American Foundation’s Heritage Month Awards Dinner on May 14th that she and her fiancé are happily enjoying their engagement, but they plan to discuss future plans after their movie is released.

The 35-year-old, who got engaged to her partner—a former contestant on The Bachelor—in July 2025 after dating for seven years, is enjoying being engaged despite her busy work life.

She described the feeling as ‘almost magical’ while speaking at the TAAF event celebrating AAPI leaders. She explained that the urge to share photos when people get engaged makes sense, because love is a truly special experience.

Honestly, seeing someone get me, truly see me, and then just…celebrate that? It’s everything. It’s the absolute best feeling in the world, and I’m totally obsessed with the idea of finding that connection.

Hayley is thrilled to have Becca with her as she prepares for the June release of her new movie, which is inspired by her 2015 song of the same name. Becca proposed just five months after Hayley did, and Hayley feels especially supported by her. Hayley first publicly came out as a lesbian at age 24 with the song “Girls Like Girls.”

It’s been an amazing experience for me. I used to struggle with my identity, but now I’m performing ‘Girls Like Girls’ on stage and proudly representing the LGBTQ+ community with a rainbow flag. I’m thrilled that people will finally get to see this song come to life.

She shared that as her first time directing, this moment was incredibly meaningful. She also emphasized the importance of showcasing queer joy and expressed her excitement for audiences to experience the film.

Becca, a contestant on both Chris Soules’ and Ben Higgins’ seasons of The Bachelor, showed her unwavering support for Hayley, proving she’s always her biggest fan.

She’s an incredibly dedicated artist, and I’m lucky enough to witness her passion and work ethic firsthand,” he shared on Instagram earlier this month. “I’ve never met anyone who puts in as much effort, and her commitment to creating art that resonates with and represents people is truly unique.

She shared that so much love and effort goes into everything Hayley Kiyoko does. She was thrilled to witness Hayley’s success and believes this is only the start of great things, expressing overwhelming love and pride.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m so thrilled for Hayley and Becca as they embark on this exciting journey as fiancées! I’ve been following their story, and it’s just lovely. I wanted to share some of their most heartwarming moments with you – get ready for some serious sweetness!

Singer Hayley Kiyoko shared a photo on Instagram from when she first met her now-girlfriend, Becca Tilley, at the release party for her album Expectations in April 2018. Kiyoko wrote that Tilley was wearing a shirt that said ‘no time for romance,’ and jokingly added, ‘It’s been 4 years. I guess she had some time.’

Hayley and her now-partner first appeared together publicly at NYLON’s Young Hollywood Party in May 2018, shortly after they met. Despite waiting years to share photos together on Instagram, the couple wasn’t trying to hide their relationship. As Tilley, from The Bachelor, explained on her Scrubbing In podcast, they were openly affectionate, holding hands and kissing in public.

On June 1, 2022, Tilley posted on Instagram that things were unchanged, just days after publicly confirming their relationship with Kiyoko through her music video, “For the Girls,” which was inspired by The Bachelor.

When Kiyoko released her second album, Panorama, in July 2022, her girlfriend publicly shared how proud she was. On Instagram, she wrote about being excited for everyone to hear the album and get immersed in its beautiful sound, adding, “You are incredible & I love you so much!”

The singer shared similar sentiments, telling TopMob News, “I’m incredibly thankful for Becca. She’s been a wonderful partner, a constant source of support, and always knows how to make me laugh, especially when I’m stressed.”

Wow, they really pulled off their first official couple’s costume as Velma and Daphne from the classic cartoon Scooby Doo, Where Are You!

Taylor Swift celebrated her 2023 Grammy win with an after-party where Tilley and Kiyoko helped create a dazzling atmosphere. Kiyoko later posted on Instagram, saying, “We had a great night out!”

After meeting Taylor Swift at a post-Grammys party six months earlier, Kiyoko and Tilley continued their romance by attending the Los Angeles stop of her Eras Tour on August 4, 2023.

Tilley, discussing their relationship on the Made It Out podcast in May 2024 (while referencing their 2023 *Wickedthemed Halloween costumes), explained that being with a confident partner made them question whether they needed to dim their own personality to please others. They realized they no longer wanted to change themselves to make people happy and instead wanted to be with people who loved them completely as they are. They particularly admire that their partner doesn’t ask them to be anyone but themselves.

Tilley marked April 3rd – Kiyoko’s birthday – as the beginning of their connection. In a touching tribute posted in 2024, Tilley expressed their love for Kiyoko’s enthusiasm for life, work, food, and the people she cares about. They admired her kindness, her support for others, and her eagerness to share everything that brings her joy and inspiration.
