Traveling alone can be risky, particularly for women and those who are public figures online. Twitch streamer Jinnytty recently faced this danger when a man attempted to break into her hotel room, forcing her to barricade herself inside.
Jinnytty Streams Herself Barricaded In Her Room
Yoo Yoon-jin, who goes by Jinnytty (or just Jinny to her fans), is a well-known Twitch streamer with over 1.1 million followers. She frequently shares her travel experiences with viewers, and recently embarked on a challenge called “Wobblethon” – a 1500km bike ride from Poland to Romania. On May 13th, she spent the night in the small Polish village of Rozdziele.
Shortly after finishing her scheduled stream, Jinny unexpectedly went live again. The video showed a chair wedged under her hotel room door. She was visibly upset, quietly crying, as loud banging and a shadowy figure appeared outside her door.
People watching her online noticed something was wrong and quickly told her to call the police. Jinny explained that a man had been knocking at her door for a while, and when she didn’t respond, he tried to force his way inside. She believes he was someone who had been watching her live stream.
After some hesitation, Jinny finally called the police to report what was happening, but they simply told her to call back if the person tried to come inside again. Fortunately, a streamer named Mokrysuchar saw what was going on and offered to drive her to another city.
While waiting for help, the terrified streamer begins to talk about her “stalker”. She says:
He looked like a nice guy, he looked like a harmless guy. He knocked on the door asking if had five minutes as soon as i was done streaming, obviously he was a viewer waiting for me to be done.
After about an hour, the police and Mokrysuchar finally arrived and freed Jinny from her room.

The Stalker Was A Fan?
Once Jinny felt safe with Mokrysuchar, she explained more to her viewers. As she’d mentioned before, she believed the person who had been following her was likely someone watching her stream. She described how the man had hurried towards her in the hotel lobby while she was returning a key. She asked if he was checking in, and he said he was a guest and then asked if she was still live on stream. They only spoke briefly before he left, but not before asking if he could talk to her later, to which Jinny replied that she was busy.
The streamer believes the man likely watched her live stream and then waited for it to finish before coming to her door, since he knocked immediately after it ended.
I was hoping that this guy also leaves, but he was trying to barge in. That’s why I started streaming. That’s why I was like, ‘Holy sh*t, I’m gonna die.’
According to her, the man actually called the police, claiming he was trapped inside the hotel and couldn’t leave. However, he was gone by the time officers arrived at Jinny’s location.
The streamer is planning to continue her trip to Romania, but her fans are increasingly worried about her safety and have suggested she travel with someone. This scary event highlights the genuine risks streamers face when broadcasting their location and daily activities online. Although Jinnytty was thankfully unharmed due to the fast response of other creators and the police, many are now wondering just how safe it is to stream while traveling alone.
