JENNIE Glows Like a Mermaid in 15,000-Sequin Dress at Met Gala 2026

Who wanna rock with JENNIE at Met Gala 2026?

BLACKPINK’s member turned heads at a fashion fundraiser in New York City on May 4th. She arrived at the Metropolitan Museum of Art wearing a stunning strapless blue Chanel gown covered in 15,000 sequins – it took 540 hours to sew them all on! (See what other stars wore here.)

She completed her look with a delicate earring featuring gold and white diamonds, also from the French fashion house.

Many people have been asking about Jennie, the K-pop singer’s, hairstyle and nails. She wore her hair up in a sophisticated style and had a metallic manicure that perfectly complemented her light blue dress.

As someone who keeps a close eye on style moments, I remember Jennie’s Met Gala debut back in 2023 so well! She really understood the assignment, wearing a classic black-and-white Chanel mini dress. It was a beautiful tribute to Karl Lagerfeld, the iconic designer the whole evening celebrated. She definitely made a statement right from the start!

She told Vogue at the event that she felt fortunate the Chanel team had brought back a ’90s look originally created by Karl Lagerfeld, adding simply, ‘I’m just so happy.’

She also credited advice from her bandmate Rosé with helping her stay positive. Rosé, along with Lisa and Jisoo, is part of the girl group she performs in.

Jennie recalled that Rosie had advised her last year to simply enjoy herself, and that’s exactly what she intended to do.

The singer known for “Like JENNIE” quickly became a regular at the Met Gala, returning the next year in a stunning royal blue Alaïa gown that fit the event’s “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” theme.

In fact, JENNIE revealed that the Pieter Mulier-designed dress was “actually one whole fabric.”

She joked during the Vogue livestream that New York’s Met Gala will always be a bit stressful for her. However, attending last year helped her feel a little more at ease.

She really came into her own at last year’s Met Gala, turning heads once more in Chanel – this time with a stylish tuxedo-inspired outfit.

According to a recent interview, the Met Gala 2025 theme, ‘Black dandyism,’ isn’t simply about clothing. It’s a statement that questions old-fashioned rules, celebrates how fluid gender expression can be, and offers a new take on what ‘elegant’ means. The look draws inspiration from Coco Chanel‘s early 20th-century designs, which aimed to liberate women from restrictive fashion and combine traditionally masculine and feminine styles.

The 30-year-old explained that the outfit – featuring a shiny satin top, fitted pants, and elegantly draped skirt – was both fashionable and representative of Chanel’s innovative approach to women’s wear, prioritizing comfort and self-expression.
