Gojo Satoru is a fan-favorite character in Jujutsu Kaisen, largely due to his incredible strength. From the beginning, the series established him as the most powerful sorcerer of his time, operating on a level far above everyone else. For most of the story, viewers believed Gojo was unbeatable, making his eventual death during his battle with Sukuna a shocking twist.
In the climactic moments of the series, Sukuna’s power dramatically increased after completely taking over Megumi’s body. He demonstrated his immense strength by using Mahoraga to defeat Gojo, solidifying his reputation as the most powerful sorcerer of the Heian era and a truly terrifying being. While some Gojo fans believe Sukuna’s victory wasn’t fair and that Gojo remains the stronger of the two, most fans now agree that Sukuna is the more powerful, a view recently supported by a poll where he ranked higher than Gojo.
Jujutsu Kaisen Fans in Japan Vote Sukuna as the Strongest Over Gojo

A recent poll by the Japanese website Ranking.net asked fans to choose the strongest character in Jujutsu Kaisen, considering a total of 115 characters. The results showed Ryomen Sukuna, known as the King of Curses, ranked slightly higher than Gojo Satoru, who many believe is the strongest. Sukuna scored 95 points, while Gojo received 94.5 – a very close margin. To put that in perspective, the next highest-ranked character, Yuta Okkotsu, scored 85 points. This demonstrates that Japanese fans are sharply divided on whether Gojo or Sukuna is truly more powerful.
It’s hard to say for sure who’s stronger, but many fans favor Sukuna for a few key reasons. He’s incredibly old – existing for over a thousand years – and isn’t just strong, but also a clever fighter. We saw this in his battle with Gojo, where he used a long-prepared strategy involving Mahoraga to win, proving his tactical skills. Sukuna’s power comes from both his immense strength and centuries of fighting experience.
Gojo was just thirty years old when he fought a being who had been feared as the strongest for centuries. Despite the age and experience difference, Gojo held his own, using his unique abilities and incredible self-assurance. Sukuna’s power comes from centuries of fighting and growing stronger, but Gojo reached the top through his own talent and a captivating personality. The question of who is stronger – Gojo or Sukuna – will likely always be debated by fans of Jujutsu Kaisen, as there’s no clear answer.
