Keltie Knight Says Facelift Took 9 Hours Due to Scar Tissue

Keltie Knight is getting candid about her plastic surgery journey.

The host of the Live from TopMob podcast recently shared that she had a facelift in 2023. She explained that after years of being on camera, she had become overly focused on minor imperfections in her appearance. While the procedure wasn’t entirely smooth – she’d previously had a neck lift at age 35 – she ultimately decided to go through with it.

Keltie explained in an essay for Glamour that her surgery took much longer than expected – nearly nine hours instead of the initially planned three or four. She said this was because her surgeon, Dr. Jason Diamond, discovered a significant amount of scar tissue under her skin, caused by previous cosmetic procedures like fillers, threads, and microneedling. She described the accumulated effects of these treatments as essentially damaging her facial tissue.

Let me tell you, navigating health challenges while also juggling a busy career can be incredibly tough. Recently, I was dealing with some really debilitating symptoms that turned out to be from microcytic anemia, a type of blood disorder. It got to the point where I needed a hysterectomy in 2024 to find relief, and honestly, it was a lot to handle, especially with everything else going on.

The 44-year-old explained she considered getting a facelift even though she had a serious health problem to address. She felt ashamed of prioritizing cosmetic surgery, admitting she felt so distressed by her uterine condition that she wished she could just end her life, but she still wanted to focus on fixing her appearance first.

Despite calling it the best decision she’d ever made, even with the high cost, she still felt ashamed about having the procedure.

She confessed she felt embarrassed about following through with what she did, and wasn’t sure if she would ever tell anyone about it.

Everything changed when Rachel Zoe’s birthday party was being filmed for The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

You won’t believe this, but Dorit Kemsley actually told me I looked like I was getting younger! It totally prompted me to come clean about something I’d been keeping under wraps. I confessed, ‘Thank you! It’s because I had a facelift.’ I’d only shared that with my husband and my two closest friends, so it felt good to finally say it out loud!

Though she didn’t intend to say it on camera, she agreed for it to air on the show.

The author of Fk Them Theory: Self-Help for People Who Are Done Being the Bigger Person realized something: why not just be honest? She had been writing about taking control of your own choices, specifically when it comes to appearance, and letting go of worrying about what others think. She wondered if openly admitting to getting a facelift at 41 could actually be a liberating experience.

In the same essay, she openly discussed trying GLP-1 medications, noting they helped her lose around seven or eight pounds that she’s been able to keep off.

She questioned why people criticize women who choose what seems like the simpler path, asking, “Isn’t life already difficult enough?” She explained that while she could have lost five pounds if she’d wanted to, she was already overwhelmed. She was juggling a lot – her brother’s hospitalization, managing the household while her husband was away for work nearly every day of the year, a demanding job in Hollywood, her podcast, mentoring, and charitable work – and simply felt exhausted.

Keltie explained she simply wanted to lose weight without a struggle. Thankfully, it was easy for her this time. She lost the weight and felt so good about her body that she started doing Pilates again.

After years of feeling overwhelmed and taken advantage of by the entertainment industry, the host of the LadyGang podcast now feels self-assured and happy with the decisions she’s made.

Keltie, a red carpet correspondent for TopMob, said she had a blast during the recent awards season. She joked that she felt like her younger, more carefree self again, and playfully suggested her recent facelift might be the reason. Ultimately, she feels much more self-assured at 44 than she did at 34, knowing her worth both professionally and personally. She confidently stated she excels at her job and always looks fantastic on the red carpet, especially with her signature hairstyle.

She shared with TopMob News that she wanted people to understand the reality of the recovery process, showing the bruising and swelling that comes with it. She described looking severely injured, ‘like I’d been in a car crash and the car had won,’ but emphasized that she recovered quickly, being presentable after just five days and feeling completely normal in a restaurant after ten.

Okay, so she totally explained why she was so open about getting a face lift, and honestly, it makes SO much sense! She said, and I’m paraphrasing because she’s a genius, that being on reality TV, it would be super strange if she just showed up next season looking a decade younger, which, let’s be real, she DOES! It would be a total mystery, so she just laid it all out there. I admire her honesty SO much!
