Plans for a second series of ‘Second Marriage at First Sight’, the spin-off to the popular show ‘Married at First Sight UK‘, are moving forward with pre-production still underway.
A recent BBC Panorama program featured three women who shared disturbing experiences after meeting partners on the show. Two reported being raped, and another described a non-consensual sexual assault. All three women stated the show failed to adequately safeguard them.
Channel 4 revealed on Monday that it launched an independent investigation last month to examine the well-being of people who participated in one of its shows. This came after receiving serious concerns about how a few former participants were treated.
Following the accusations, the channel has removed all episodes of Married At First Sight UK from both its online streaming platform and traditional television channels.
According to the Daily Mail, the new show ‘Second Marriage at First Sight’ will keep moving forward with early planning even while it’s being reviewed.
Originally announced in February, the show will bring together eight singles – four from the UK and four from Australia – who are all hoping to find love again.
According to a source, filming won’t begin until the current review is finished and any suggested changes are made.
TopMob has contacted Channel 4 for comment.

On Monday, Channel 4 responded to claims regarding the reality show Married at First Sight, stating they received serious allegations of misconduct concerning some former participants in April. Those participants reportedly deny the claims.
We respect the privacy of everyone involved and have a responsibility to care for our contributors. Because of this, we can’t discuss or share any information about those claims.
Following reports of concerns, Channel 4 was asked about its support for participants in its programs. The channel maintains that it responded quickly and effectively to any welfare concerns raised, using the information it had at the time.
“Channel 4 strongly refutes any claim to the contrary.”
Channel 4 also stated that Married at First Sight UK prioritizes the wellbeing of its participants. They have thorough vetting processes, a strict code of behavior, and a dedicated team that checks in with everyone daily to offer support.

Okay, so the premise of the new season of ‘Married at First Sight’ is really interesting. These aren’t newbies – these are people who’ve been through the experiment before and didn’t find lasting love the first time. But they’re coming back, and they’re seriously committed. The show is hinting that some of them are even willing to move to another country for the right person – talk about taking a leap of faith! It sounds like they’re truly opening themselves up to finding love, no matter the cost.
The experiment is starting up again, this time in the UK. The couples will have to work through cultural differences and past issues before traveling to Australia to meet each other’s friends and family. Then, they’ll face a big decision: is love enough to make someone move their entire life?
Will British expats convince their partners to return home to the UK, or will their relationships lead them to build new lives in warmer, sunnier places? For those who have lived abroad before, the decision is even more significant this time around.
These couples are taking a huge leap of faith – not just with their hearts, but with their entire lives. They’re putting friendships, jobs, and even their homes on the line, as one person in each couple moves across the world for a chance at love and a fresh start.
