Skydance Interactive and Skydance New Media have combined to form Paramount Games Studio. Paramount Skydance, the parent company, recently announced this and appointed Tony Driscoll as president. The studio’s first game will be revealed today during the Summer Game Fest Live Kickoff show, starting at 1:15 PM PST.
Skydance New Media is the studio behind two highly anticipated games: Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra and a new Star Wars title. Both games are being developed with Amy Hennig, the creative force behind Uncharted, leading the project, and are currently still in development, according to Variety.
Driscoll announced that the company is making games a central part of its overall content plan, alongside movies, TV shows, and streaming. This isn’t just an addition to their business, but a key focus. They plan to develop high-quality games for all kinds of players, from casual gamers to those who enjoy large-scale, complex titles, using both popular Paramount franchises and entirely new creations. The goal is to create lasting experiences that connect fans more deeply with the brand and help the company grow over time.
Our games aren’t just products—they’re the starting point for passionate fan communities. We believe building a strong game is the first step to earning that community’s support. Ultimately, how much a franchise can grow depends on how involved fans can become.
Driscoll’s leadership team includes Dan Prigg, who leads games and previously worked at Scopely and Unity; Shawn Kittelson, head of creative and production, with experience at NetherRealm and WB Games on titles like Mortal Kombat 11 and Injustice 2; and Andreas Silvers, senior VP of marketing and communications, who previously built strong community-focused marketing strategies at EA and EA Sports, among others.
There haven’t been any new details about Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra since its release was pushed back from early 2026. We’ll have to wait and see if any updates are shared during the upcoming weekend showcases, so keep checking back for news.
