To coincide with the launch of the new Wolverine game from Insomniac, Marvel will release a special edition cover for their ongoing Wolverine comic series later this year.
The next issue of Saladin Ahmed’s comic series will have a cover showcasing art from the PlayStation 5 exclusive game. The cover is designed to look like a file folder with the message ‘For the Players’ on it, referencing a popular slogan used in Sony’s advertising.
This cover is a nod to an older issue – Volume 2, Issue #50, from 1991. That comic also used a “file” design where Wolverine’s claws ripped through the cover to show the art underneath.
So, it’s a fun nod to a classic Wolverine comic, then – and advertising for the upcoming game.
You’ll be seeing much more of Logan next month! Sony will be showcasing it during their State of Play event on June 2nd.
