Mike Flanagan’s latest film, Carrie, marks the tenth collaboration between Flanagan and his wife, Kate Siegel, since their work on the 2013 horror film Oculus. Following the success of Oculus, Siegel has appeared in many of Flanagan’s popular projects, including the Netflix series The Haunting of Hill House, The Haunting of Bly Manor, Midnight Mass, and The Fall of the House of Usher, as well as the films Ouija: Origin of Evil, Gerald’s Game, and The Life of Chuck. She also co-wrote the film Hush with him.
Danielle Siegel not only directed a segment for the 2024 horror anthology VHS: Beyond, written by Mike Flanagan, but she’s also returning for the upcoming Carrie miniseries – which is exciting given Flanagan’s consistently strong reviews. While Carrie has a high bar to clear considering the success of IT: Welcome to Derry, it’s worth remembering that Flanagan’s most critically acclaimed work is always made in collaboration with his wife.

Despite this, the cast of his recent series The Fall of the House of Usher (previously referred to as Carrie) is filled with talented actors, making it a show worth watching.
