After nine years, the anime adaptation of My Hero Academia has come to an end, following the conclusion of the original manga by Kohei Horikoshi last year. While the manga has a few spin-off series, such as My Hero Academia: Vigilantes, fans are still waiting to see what Kohei Horikoshi creates next – whether it’s a new series or a continuation of the MHA story. The final season of the anime premiered in October and has impressed viewers with its stunning animation as the story reaches its epic climax.
The anime series wrapped up with a touching, yet somewhat sad, final episode that showed what happened after the long war against the villains. Many of the people who worked on the show have been involved since the very beginning, and its ending feels especially poignant for them. According to Mantan Web, Ayane Sakura, the voice actress for the popular character Ochako Uraraka, expressed her mixed emotions about the series coming to a close.
Ochako’s Voice Actor Shares Thoughts on My Hero Academia‘s Final Season

Sakura reflected on the final season, noting that while the anime has been running for nearly ten years, only about a year has passed for the characters themselves. She found it moving to see the characters experiencing a concentrated version of the emotions viewers have felt throughout the series. She admitted feeling a mix of sadness that it’s ending and hope that the characters will soon find peace.
I was so captivated by the second to last episode! It really dug into Ochako’s struggles after the big fight, and honestly, seeing Himiko Toga’s story come to a close was powerful. I’d been anticipating Ochako’s emotional arc for ages – it was something I was really invested in, and it finally happened! It was a relief to see her finally confront those feelings, and I’d been waiting for that scene for a long time.
I went to the recording studio even though I hadn’t fully processed my feelings. The other actors were curious about how I’d perform, but honestly, I didn’t know either. So, I over-prepared, hoping to just go with the flow. I usually like to be really prepared for recordings, but none of the emotions I’d practiced felt genuine.
Himiko’s death deeply affects Ochako, who continues to struggle with guilt over their past. The story makes sure Ochako finds closure, especially since she had a hard time coping with the loss. You can currently watch My Hero Academia: Final Season on Crunchyroll and Netflix, along with all the previous seasons and movies.
