Details about a new Spyro the Dragon game with role-playing features have emerged online before its expected announcement at tomorrow’s Xbox presentation. Since Xbox now owns Activision, the company that owns Spyro the Dragon, this marks a potential revival of the franchise, which hasn’t seen a new release under Xbox ownership yet. The leak comes from a source who accurately predicted the announcement of Rayman Legends Retold just recently.
A new source on X (formerly Twitter), going by the name No Arms and No Legs, is claiming that a new Spyro the Dragon game is in development and will include RPG features. They say it will have a similar feel to Spyro: Shadow Legacy, a poorly-received Nintendo DS game from 2005. Since Shadow Legacy was a critical failure (scoring only 50 on Metacritic) and isn’t considered a classic Spyro title, fans are concerned about this direction.

Sane Trilogy, Spyro Reignited Trilogy, and even some Skylanders titles, is developing it! Honestly, after those games, they’re the perfect team to bring this series back. And get this – we’re finally going to hear official news at the Xbox Games Showcase on June 7th! I can’t wait!
