Nicole Kidman‘s daughter Sunday Rose is already making history at Met Gala 2026.
Even though she was only 17, she attended the Met Gala with her mother on May 4th at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. This meant she bypassed the event’s age restriction, which usually requires attendees to be 18 or older.
However, Sunday was probably an exception because Nicole was helping to host the party with high-profile figures like Beyoncé, Venus Williams, and Vogue editor Anna Wintour.
The Academy Award winner looked stunning in a red, sequined Chanel gown with feathered sleeves, perfectly fitting the evening’s “Costume Art” theme. She finished the glamorous look with long, flowing blonde hair styled by Gucci Westman.
Michelle Obama, 58, turned heads on the red carpet, and her date wasn’t far behind! She wore a beautiful floral dress and eye-catching Dior earrings, perfectly fitting the night’s “Fashion Is Art” theme. (You can see photos of all the stars here.)
Nicole had a memorable night, attending the event with her 15-year-old daughter, Faith Margaret, whom she shares with ex-husband Keith Urban. She also shares two older children, 33-year-old Bella Cruise and 31-year-old Connor Cruise, with ex-husband Tom Cruise. According to a March discussion on Las Culturistas, Nicole was thrilled to co-chair the event for the third time and especially happy to share the evening with her teenage daughter.
She playfully said she was just excited to be in the same space as Beyoncé, and admitted her daughter would probably enjoy the event even more, since she’s a big fan of fashion.
Nicole is known for her incredible style, and she always makes a statement at the Met Gala. Last year, she turned heads in a striking black Balenciaga gown with gloves and blue crystal jewelry, which perfectly fit the event’s theme of tailored fashion and celebrating Black style.

The real standout part of Nicole’s look was her sleek, pulled-back hairstyle, expertly created by stylist Adir Abergel.
Adir shared on Instagram that Nicole Kidman’s sophisticated, short hairstyle was the starting point for the look. He aimed to capture the spirit of the Met Gala’s theme by celebrating the confidence, individuality, and refined style of the ‘Dandies,’ where every aspect of their appearance is carefully considered.
Nicole also found herself thinking about the event’s focus on celebrating talented designers who don’t usually get the recognition they deserve.
She told Vogue that she enjoyed celebrating fashion, especially the skill of tailoring, because so much beautiful work goes on behind the scenes. She explained that the ‘dandy’ theme is all about personalizing classic pieces, like taking a black suit and making it unique with a special button or other custom detail – something she particularly appreciates.
