Olivia Wilde Reacts to Criticism of “Startling” Red Carpet Appearance

Olivia Wilde isn’t worrying about her viral red carpet appearance, darling.

Florence Pugh responded to comments about her looks after a video of her at the San Francisco International Film Festival on April 24th went viral.

On May 3rd, Olivia Wilde’s brother, Charles Cockburn, jokingly asked her in an Instagram video, “Olivia Wilde, would you like to respond to the rumors that you’re a resurrected corpse?”

After a photo of Olivia, taken during her recent viral SFGATE interview—where she wore a black drop-waist skirt and a white T-shirt—circulated online alongside a picture of Gollum from The Lord of the Rings, the Tron: Legacy actress addressed comments about her apparent weight loss.

“That’s a fisheye lens,” Olivia said, explaining why she looked different in the picture. “And honestly, it’s not my most flattering angle—probably not even my best look ever. It’s a bit of a surprising photo.”

She laughed and admitted, “I’m not sure why I got so close to the camera. It wasn’t necessary, and I wasn’t being honest about it.”

Further driving her point home, the 42-year-old quipped, “I’m not dead.”

She playfully teased her brother about his questions, jokingly writing that only a little brother would try to get a rise out of her like that.

Olivia’s comments follow recent media attention, sparked by a heartwarming get-together with her former partner, Jason Sudeikis.

She and her ex-partner, the star of Ted Lasso, seemed happy and friendly while sharing a hug in Los Angeles on April 27th. They are parents to 12-year-old Otis and 9-year-old Daisy.

Their easygoing relationship didn’t happen immediately. The former couple, who split in 2020 after almost a decade together, initially struggled with disagreements about their children. The situation became particularly public when Olivia received custody papers while on stage at CinemaCon in 2022.

Despite their legal issues, the actress from Deadfall emphasized that her and Jason’s children will always come first.

Speaking on The Kelly Clarkson Show in 2022, she explained that her children are her main focus. She and her ex-partner both agree that as long as their kids are happy and healthy, that’s what matters most – they’re everything to both of them.
