Despite constantly changing its villains, allies, and overall story, Supernatural always focused on the battle between good and evil. This often meant characters were firmly placed on one side or the other. Beyond the main characters like Sam and Dean, and a small supporting group, characters would frequently vanish for long periods, or even permanently, only to reappear when the plot needed them. This inconsistency meant that even impactful characters could be forgotten, despite their contributions to the story.
