Things got worse when the entire The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender series was leaked online, racking up millions of views. At the same time, a high-profile video game based on the series was secretly cancelled. This created more negative publicity for the Avatar franchise. Recently, co-creator Bryan Konietzko shared an update on social media, explaining they are still developing new Avatar content, working to protect the franchise, and dealing with the fallout from the leak, while also acknowledging they can’t publicly share all the details or their frustrations.

The series X began in 1996 as an animated adaptation by Studio Madhouse, based on a story from the creative group CLAMP. It centers around a conflict between two powerful factions with opposing visions for the future – one seeking to safeguard humanity, and the other prioritizing nature, even at the expense of people. Following the initial film, a television series was made, as well as a less well-known prequel, X2 – Double X. Originally released in 1993, Crunchyroll has announced that this short film will be available to stream later today, June 10th. The original creators of the series have also shared their excitement about its return.

In an interview with GamesRadar, Xbox head Matt Booty discussed the possibility of reviving classic franchises like Banjo-Kazooie. He confirmed that Xbox is considering options for these older properties, potentially developing them internally or partnering with other studios. During Summer Game Fest 2026, ComicBook played a demo of Blood Message that showcased its story, visuals, and gameplay.
