Heart Machine has had to reduce its staff and will be finishing work on Hyper Light Breaker, which is currently available in early access. However, their next game, Possessor(s), is still scheduled to release on November 11th for PlayStation 5 and PC. A new animated short has also been released, offering more details about the game’s world and the story of Professor Foss.
Foss used to be Luca’s teacher, but a terrible demonic event in Sanzu City led to the deaths of his students and his own possession by a powerful demon. While Foss can still talk, this suggests the demon is not just changing how he looks, but is actively destroying him from within.
Okay, so heading back to school isn’t just about seeing Foss again. Luca and Rhem are digging around in the basement, trying to figure out what some mysterious research was all about. I have no idea where that’s going to lead, but I’m pretty sure we’ll find out soon enough! If you want to know more about the game – like how the combat works and what weapons Luca uses – you can check it out here.
