Capcom’s Resident Evil Requiem is off to an incredible start! After selling five million copies in its first week, it has now surpassed six million units sold. Released on February 27th for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2, it’s become the fastest Resident Evil game to reach this milestone.
Developing Requiem was challenging, especially since the team initially planned for online and co-op play before changing direction. But the work isn’t finished! Director Koshi Nakanishi recently announced upcoming updates, including a new mini-game and a Photo Mode. Story-based downloadable content is also planned, and although details are limited, it’s reportedly centered around the character Leon and is nearing completion.
Rumors suggest that Capcom might reveal a remake of Resident Evil: Code – Veronica later this year, possibly releasing the game in 2027. We’ll have more information on both this and the previously mentioned project soon, so keep an eye out for updates.
