Following strong sales of Resident Evil Requiem, Capcom has increased its profit expectations for the year. The company announced that the game’s success has resulted in higher sales and profits across the board, allowing it to exceed its original financial projections.
Capcom now expects to report net sales of around $1.2 billion (¥195.3 billion) for the year ending March 31, 2026. This is an increase from their earlier forecast of $1.19 billion (¥190 billion), representing a 2.8 percent rise. Last year, the company reported sales of $1 billion (¥169 billion).
Capcom now anticipates an operating profit of ¥75 billion, a slight increase from its earlier prediction of ¥73 billion. They also expect ordinary profits to rise to ¥74.1 billion, up from ¥70 billion. As a result, Capcom now forecasts earnings of ¥130.29 million per share, an increase from the previously projected ¥121.93 million.
Capcom announced that the positive reception of Resident Evil Requiem has also increased sales of their older games. Beyond video games, their arcade and entertainment businesses are also performing strongly.
Capcom reported strong performance in its digital content business, with the latest Resident Evil game, Resident Evil Requiem, receiving positive reviews and strong sales after its release in late March 2026. Older, popular titles also continued to sell well. The company’s arcade operations, amusement equipment, and other businesses also contributed positively to overall results.
Capcom recently revealed that Resident Evil Requiem has reached a major milestone, selling 7 million copies since its release in February. The game is available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2. Director Koshi Nakanishi shared the news on Instagram, posting a photo of the development team celebrating their success.
According to Circana analyst Mat Piscatella, Resident Evil Requiem is now among the top five best-selling Resident Evil games in the United States. Currently, it trails only Resident Evil 5, Resident Evil 4 Remake, Resident Evil Village, and the original Resident Evil 4 in terms of sales.
There’s been a lot of talk about the upcoming Resident Evil Requiem, and recent discoveries within the game’s files suggest the popular Mercenaries mode could be making a comeback. Capcom has confirmed a new mini-game is planned, but hasn’t officially said if it’s Mercenaries. The discovery includes ten unused music tracks, and several of them are fast-paced, which fits the style of the Mercenaries mode.
