Capcom revealed that the next game in the Resident Evil series will be a remake of Code: Veronica. Officially titled Resident Evil Veronica, it’s scheduled for release in 2027. A new trailer shows Claire Redfield exploring her brother’s Paris apartment, though he is not there.
She’s then captured by a mysterious person, possibly Hunk, and we get brief glimpses of various locations. Fortunately, the traditional, flesh-eating zombies are back!
Fans have always loved Resident Evil – Code: Veronica. It came before Resident Evil 4 and continued Claire Redfield’s story after she left Raccoon City, searching for Chris. Her journey leads to capture by the Umbrella Corporation and a desperate escape from the dangerous Rockfort Island, where she faces terrifying threats.
As she continued, she discovered the history of the Ashcroft family and their part in building the company. More significantly, this was the first game in the series to use completely 3D graphics. And then there’s Steve Burnside… honestly, it’s best not to dwell on him.
If reports are accurate and Albert Wesker and the HCF play significant roles, Resident Evil – Code: Veronica Remake has the potential to be as successful as previous games in the series, with no content reportedly being removed during development.
