We enjoyed Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise of the Dragons when it came out, but it’s become a must-have game for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 thanks to all the great updates and improvements added after release.

For more than a year, Dev Secret Base has been regularly adding new characters to the game at no cost, and recently they released four more!

This game takes inspiration from the fast-paced fighting of the original series, but with a new twist: it’s a roguelite, meaning each playthrough is unique and there’s always something new to unlock. This helps keep the gameplay fresh and avoids the repetitive nature often found in similar games.

With the addition of new playable characters – Jackson, Jim Mackey, Bimmy Lee (yes, that’s a character based on a typo!), and Armored Okada – there’s never been a better time to jump into the game, whether you’re a returning player or completely new to it.

Okay, so it’s not the best brawler you can get on the PS Store – games like Absolum and Streets of Rage 4 are still a step above in terms of overall polish. But honestly, if you’ve already played those and you’re craving something with a ton of replay value and a cool roguelite spin, this game has become a total must-have. The developers have just kept adding content since launch, and it’s seriously impressive!
