Okay, so I’m super hyped because Romeo Is a Dead Man, the crazy new action game from Grasshopper and the awesome Suda51, just dropped on PS5! I’m diving in right now.
The busy Tokyo studio has even more planned and is very confident it will release a second game in 2026. They aren’t sharing any specifics about the project just yet.
Here’s what Suda51 said during a brief Grasshopper Direct, posted to YouTube:
We have some exciting news to share in this Grasshopper Direct! We’re very likely to release another game in 2026. We don’t have details on what the game will be or when we’ll officially announce it, but we expect to be able to share more information soon, so please stay tuned!
Good news for fans of Romeo Is a Dead Man! Suda51 announced that an art book and soundtrack are on the way. They’re also exploring options with different companies to release a physical copy of the game.
We thought the game was delightfully silly and fun, though it definitely has a few flaws.
In our 6/10 Romeo Is a Dead Man PS5 review, we wrote:
Romeo Is a Dead Man is a bit of a rollercoaster – you’ll find moments you really love mixed with frustrating parts. It’s an uneven game, but if you stick with it through the annoying bits, you’ll eventually discover a unique and fun hack-and-slash experience. It just requires patience and a willingness to push through the rough patches.
