In the game SAROS, Halcyon is a limited, pinkish-purple resource you’ll need a lot of to improve your armor. Using it to unlock nodes can significantly make the game easier and help you survive each playthrough.
This SAROS guide is all about where you can go about finding all the Halcyon you could possibly need.
Red Containers
You mainly get Halcyon from opening Containers, and it’s one of the two possible rewards you’ll receive. However, it’s not always offered, so you might need to play for several Cycles to collect enough. When Halcyon is available, it’s almost always the best choice, regardless of what the other reward is, because it’s much more useful in the long run.
Alphas/Enemies
Both smaller enemies and regular enemies have a chance to drop Halcyon, but it’s not a sure thing. If you have enough strong attacks, you might be able to quickly and easily collect Alphas to get Halcyon.
Nightmare Gates/Strands
The seven Nightmare Strands are tough challenges, but completing them gives you great rewards, including Halcyon. These Strands mostly help you recharge your Second Chance ability, which is an upgrade you’ll buy with Halcyon in the Armor Matrix. Second Chance lets you avoid losing progress in a Cycle, and it’s one of the first upgrades you should prioritize.
Remember that each area has a limited amount of Halcyon, and you can check how much is left using the World Dial. It’s helpful to keep an eye on this so you don’t waste time searching areas that are already completely picked over.
You’ll earn the ‘Eclipse’s Gift’ trophy or achievement by collecting just 70 Halcyon. There’s more than 160 Halcyon available throughout the game, making it a simple goal to reach.
When you use Halcyon, focus on upgrades that lower the penalties for dying and give you Second Chance. These will make playing through Cycles much smoother and more enjoyable.
Those are all the ways to get Halcyon quickly and efficiently in SAROS.
