September Is Suddenly an Insane Month for New PS5 Games

Every year, there’s typically one month where a huge number of things are released, and we’re left asking ourselves if it will be an exceptionally memorable period.

September 2026 might just be an incredible month for PlayStation 5 games, and it’s quickly becoming one to watch.

With The Blood of Dawnwalker officially releasing on September 3rd, we now have a two-week stretch with four highly anticipated games coming out.

Things could get even busier in the latter half of the month, depending on when dates are announced for summer events.

It’s hard to believe games like Onimusha: Way of the Sword, the original Halo, or the upcoming Fable might all release in September. That would be a lot!

So, right now, September 2026 looks like this:

  • The Blood of Dawnwalker – 3rd September
  • Phantom Blade Zero – 9th September
  • Marvel’s Wolverine – 15th September
  • Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter – 17th September

We’re expecting some amazing games soon, including a highly anticipated RPG created by the team behind The Witcher 3, a visually stunning action game that impressed us from the start, a PlayStation 5 exclusive from the talented developers at Insomniac Games, and a JRPG that’s likely to be among the year’s best.

As of today, late 2026 looks pretty empty in terms of major game releases. However, with GTA 6 currently planned for November, expect many other games to aim for September and October instead – developers will want to avoid competing directly with such a huge title from Rockstar.

What are your thoughts on when the PS5 will actually be available? Let us know in the comments, and maybe start putting some money aside!
