Stranger Things: Tales From ‘85 cast

Though the latest season of Stranger Things just finished airing a few months ago, fans are already getting more of the story with the new animated series, Stranger Things: Tales From ’85.

This story takes place in the winter of 1985, between the second and third seasons of the show. Eleven, Mike, Will, Dustin, Lucas, and Max return as they confront a dangerous new enemy hidden under the frozen surface.

According to showrunner Eric Robles, the creators aimed to recapture the feeling of the show’s earlier seasons with this installment, promising a nostalgic experience for longtime viewers.

Though Tales From ’85 includes familiar characters, they’re portrayed by a completely new group of actors. The roles previously played by stars like Millie Bobby Brown and Finn Wolfhard have been recast.

Brooklyn Davey Norstedt plays Eleven/Jane Hopper

Eleven, also known as Jane Hopper, is a girl with powerful telekinetic abilities who first appears in Hawkins in the first season of Stranger Things. She quickly becomes crucial in the fight against the monsters from the Upside Down. Throughout the early seasons, she’s raised by Hopper and develops a close relationship with Mike. In the story ‘Tales From ’85’, she’s working to protect her friends from a new danger.

You might recognize Brooklyn Davey Norstedt from their role in an episode of the Apple TV+ series, WeCrashed.

Luca Diaz plays Mike Wheeler

Mike Wheeler is a smart and sometimes sarcastic teenager. He’s best friends with Lucas, Dustin, and Will, and he’s dating Eleven.

You might recognize Luca Diaz from voice work in shows like Transformers: EarthSpark, Migration, and Erin & Aaron.

Braxton Quinney plays Dustin Henderson

Dustin Henderson is one of the main characters in the show, and a close friend to Will, Mike, and Lucas. He’s a really enthusiastic science fan who loves learning about monsters, and he’s the group’s expert on Dungeons & Dragons. In season two, he surprisingly became friends with Steve, and their relationship is a key part of the story.

I keep recognizing Braxton Quinney, but I couldn’t place him! Turns out I’ve seen him in a few things – ‘Bigger,’ ‘Stalked: Saving My Daughter,’ and ‘Hoppers.’

Elisha ‘EJ’ Williams plays Lucas Sinclair

Lucas Sinclair is one of the main kids – part of the group with Mike, Will, and Dustin. He becomes good friends with Max during the second season of the show.

You might recognize Elisha ‘EJ’ Williams from his appearances in shows like Henry Danger, The Loud House, Puppy Dog Pals, The Wonder Years, and Firebuds.

Benjamin Plessala plays Will Byers

Will Byers is one of the main kids in the group. In the first season, he gets trapped in a dangerous alternate dimension called the Upside Down. Later, in the second season, he becomes controlled by a powerful creature known as the Mind Flayer.

You might recognize Benjamin Plessala from his appearances in shows like Criminal Minds, Shameless, Big Little Lies, and Castlevania: Nocturne, as well as the movie Minions: The Rise of Gru.

Jolie Hoang-Rappaport plays Max Mayfield

Max Mayfield is a skateboarding enthusiast and a bit of a tomboy. She moves to Hawkins with her older brother in season 2 and quickly becomes friends with Mike, Will, Dustin, and Eleven, forming a special bond with Lucas.

Okay, so you’re wondering where you might recognize Jolie Hoang-Rappaport? Well, she’s been steadily building a really interesting resume. I’ve spotted her in a bunch of cool shows like ‘Cousins for Life,’ ‘Just Add Magic,’ the groundbreaking ‘Watchmen,’ and even the recent ‘Head of the Class’ reboot. Plus, she was in ‘The Monkey King’ and ‘My Adventures with Superman’! She’s definitely someone to keep an eye on – she’s popping up everywhere.

Brett Gipson plays Jim Hopper

Jim Hopper is the police chief of Hawkins. He developed a strong father-daughter relationship with Eleven after rescuing Will Byers from the Demogorgon.

You might recognize Brett Gipson from his appearances in TV shows like NCIS: Los Angeles, Community, Shameless, SWAT, and Station 19. He’s also been in the films Monkey Fight and Last Stop.

Jeremy Jordan plays Steve Harrington

Steve Harrington is a well-liked student at Hawkins High. He became good friends with Dustin in the second season and frequently looked after the younger kids, even helping them battle monsters like the Demogorgon.

Odessa A’zion plays Nikki Baxter

Who is Nikki Baxter? Nikki is a transfer student who becomes friends with the party.

Janeane Garofalo plays Anna Baxter

Anna Baxter is Nikki’s mother and a biology teacher at Hawkins Middle School. She’s currently covering Mr. Clarke’s classes while he’s on sabbatical for the semester.

You probably recognize Janeane Garofalo from a lot of different shows and movies! She’s appeared in popular series like The Larry Sanders Show, Felicity, The Sopranos, The West Wing, 24, Broad City, Younger, Billions, and Harley Quinn. Lou Diamond Phillips plays Daniel Fischer

Who is Daniel Fischer? Daniel is the clerk at Hawkins Food Mart who befriends Dustin.
